Carlos Alcaraz leads head-to-head 8-4 against Sinner.
It’s not just a final. It’s the final. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, two players whose rivalry already belongs to this decade’s tennis folklore, will walk into Court Philippe-Chatrier on Sunday, eyes fixed on history.
Alcaraz, 22, is the defending French Open champion, but more than that, he’s undefeated in Grand Slam finals. The Spaniard has played four finals and won them all, and on Sunday, he will chase No. #5.

He’s the youngest man since Björn Borg to reach five Slam finals before turning 23. His record on clay in the last year? A staggering 33-2, with the only blemishes coming against Andrey Rublev in Madrid and Holger Rune in Barcelona.
That staggering stat includes a title in Rome, where he beat Sinner in straight sets.
Sinner, though, is not the man Alcaraz met in April. The 23-year-old Italian has looked like a man possessed in the Roland Garros—six matches, all won in straight sets. To put things into perspective, what kind of domination are we talking about?
Even a man of the stature of Novak Djokovic couldn’t take a set out of the Italian even after pushing him for 3 hours and 16 minutes in the semi-final; with that win, Sinner became the first Italian man to reach the French Open final since Adriano Panatta in 1976 and the youngest man to make three consecutive Slam finals since Pete Sampras in 1994.
As far as head-to-head is concerned, this will be the 13th meeting—Alcaraz leads 8-4 and has won the last four.
