Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz: Who has won most big titles?

Alcaraz leads Sinner 6-4 in their head-to-head rivalry.
The new generation of men’s singles tennis revolves around the two most promising young sensations—Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard ushered in a new era as he beat Novak Djokovic twice at Wimbledon, a venue where the Serbian has historically always been successful.
Jannik Sinner burst into action during the second half of 2023. The Italian has enjoyed an extraordinary purple patch ever since, winning Grand Slams and several ATP titles. There was no catching Sinner midway through the season after his win in Halle—his first as the newly crowned ATP World No. 1.
The 21-year-old, Carlos Alcaraz was the first between the two to claim the year-end No. 1 position in the 2022 season. While Sinner was a steady performer in 2024 and calmly collected a tour-leading 73 wins, Alcaraz ended the season with 54 wins, nearly 20 adrift of the Italian.
Sinner’s longest win streak in 2024 extended to 16 matches. He repeated the feat twice. The first began in Melbourne in January, where he won his maiden Grand Slam in the Indian Wells Masters semi-finals, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz.

The second haul of 16 wins began at the Cincinnati Masters in August, including the US Open, lasting until the Beijing Open semifinals in September—a run once again broken by Alcaraz. For Alcaraz, the longest win streak of 2024 was 12 matches long, starting from Wimbledon and ending with the gold medal round loss to Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympics.

Carlos Alcaraz won his maiden Grand Slam at the 2022 US Open where he cruised past Casper Ruud in four sets. He extended his dominance with a statement victory at the 2023 Wimbledon championship when he downed 7-time Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic in a nerve-wracking five-setter.
The Spaniard successfully defended his title in London, beating the Serbian yet again in dominating fashion. Alcaraz also won his maiden Roland Garros, staging a fabulous comeback to beat Alexander Zverev in the finale.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner is a 3-time Slam winner with all his wins coming post 2024. He began the new year with an inspired run Down Under, beating 10-time Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic and later Daniil Medvedev in a miraculous turnaround from two sets down in the title clash.
The Italian then shut the outside noise regarding the doping scandal and triumphed at the US Open in the same year. The 23-year-old once again began the new season with a win in Melbourne, becoming the first Italian to defend his crown and the youngest man since 1993 to retain his title Down Under.

Sinner won the 2023 Canadian Masters beating Alex de Minaur in the final. The Italian staged a remarkable comeback from a doping scandal with a historic triumph at the 2024 Cincinnati Open, dominating Frances Tiafoe comfortably in straight sets.
The top seed added another spectacular title win to his belt when he downed Novak Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters 2024 to continue his incredible form in 2024.

Jannik Sinner’s dominance in 2024 coincided with Alcaraz’s poor finish to the year. The World Number One brushed aside Taylor Fritz to win the tournament, without dropping a single set.

Jannik Sinner was set to make his Olympics debut in Paris but was forced to withdraw due to illness. Alcaraz though, had a memorable debut at the Games, as the Spaniard paired up with his idol, Rafael Nadal in the doubles round, which marked the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s final Olympic appearance.
However, Alcaraz eventually fell to Djokovic in straight sets in the Gold Medal Match and had to settle for a silver. In a fabulous battle of high-quality tennis, the Serbian overpowered the Spanish.
