Jiri Lehecka set up a last-four meeting with Jack Draper at the ATP Qatar Open 2025 after knocking out top seed Carlos Alcaraz. Unseeded Lehecka earned the first top 3 win of his career after knocking out the Rotterdam Open winner, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. The Czech continues his impressive start in the season after claiming the Brisbane Open in January.    

Lehecka fought back from 4-2 down in the final set, reeling off four games in a row to advance to the last four in Doha for the second time. It was the second three-setter for the Spaniard. Alcaraz was tested by Luca Nardi in the previous round, with the match going the distance, before the World No. 3 prevailed. 

The 23-year-old Lehecka takes on Jack Draper, who climbed back from a set down to knock out Matteo Berrettini, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. The Brit overcame Berrettini to go up 2-0 in their head-to-head in his debut run in the Middle East. The left-hander is now at a career-high World No. 14 and will leave Doha on a positive note, regardless of how the semi-final against Lehecka plays out.

Jiri Lehecka and Jack Draper have two titles each on the ATP Tour and are on the verge of their third. At their last meeting in the 2024 ATP Masters 1000 Paris, Draper scored a straight-set 7-5, 6-2 win over Lehecka in the opening round. It was a role reversal from their meeting in Adelaide, which the Czech won, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The winner will face either fifth-seeded Andrey Rublev or unseeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final. Rublev, a former champion in Doha, let slip seven match points before converting on the eighth to cross the finish line with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(8) triumph over second seed Alex de Minaur.

The Canadian made a solid start to the 2025 season, with tournament wins in Adelaide and Montpellier. Auger-Aliassime trails Rublev 1-5 in their head-to-head but will have an edge over the Russian, who has not reached a final since August last year.
