In the quarterfinals, the Bulgarian dashed the top seed’s hopes with a straight-set win of 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday. Dimitrov also snapped Alcaraz’s nine-match winning streak, disrupting the World No. 2’s dominant form.

Both of Dimitrov’s recent victories over Alcaraz occurred at Masters events, and their head-to-head record now stands at 2-3. A place in the final would almost certainly propel Dimitrov back into the top ten rankings for the first time since 2018.
