The tournament offered a massive prize pool of $6,620,000.

Carlos Alcaraz won his third match after losing the opening set to win his first ever Monte Carlo Masters competition. A valiant effort from Lorenzo Musetti went in vain, as the Italian eventually couldn’t cope with fatigue. The Spaniard’s route to glory was a tricky one, as he seemed to struggle with his serving and consistency, but he found a way in the end.

His triumph meant a shift in the ATP rankings, with Alcaraz re-claiming the World No. #2 spot, and Alexander Zverev falling to third. Alcaraz became the youngest since Rafael Nadal in 2008 to win Monte Carlos Masters title and emerges as a strong contender for the upcoming clay events until Jannik Sinner’s return.
