Top five players with most wins on clay after 100 matches

Ken Rosewall tops this list as he has the most wins on clay.
Red clay has been a difficult surface for many tennis players. This clay has prevented many tennis stars from completing a career Grand Slam. Pete Sampras, Stefan Edberg, Boris Becker, and more won the other three Grand Slam titles, except the French Open.
Roland Garros is a great example of red clay. Clay tournaments are played in early summer. That’s why it is hard to perform under the scorching sun. However, a few players have managed to slay the clay and perform while soaking up all the pressure from every corner.
In this article, we will take a look at the top five players with the most wins on clay after 100 matches in the Open Era, including Davis Cup ties.
5. Tom Okker: 82 wins
The only name on the list who doesn’t have a singles Grand Slam title is Tom Okker, who had a great playing style. The Flying Dutchman witnessed his prime years between 1968 and 1972 when he reached at least the semifinals of every Major. He won two men’s doubles Grand Slam titles.
However, one record he will always be remembered for is winning 82 of his first 100 matches on clay.
4. Carlos Alcaraz: 82 wins

The only active player on the list, Carlos Alcaraz, found a spot on the list after he beat Frenchman Arthur Fils in the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 2025. At just 21, Carlos Alcaraz is the defending French Open champion and has won the Madrid Open twice in his professional career.
The Spanish tennis star is solidifying his place in the tennis world as a strong all-court star with four Grand Slam titles already under his belt.
3. Mats Wilander: 84 wins
Three-time Roland Garros champion Mats Wilander won 84 out of his initial 100 matches on the tour on the red dirt. Turning pro in 1979, the former Swedish tennis star enjoyed playing on clay much like the hardcourt.
The biggest breakthrough of his career came in 1982 when he won the French Open with a resounding victory over Argentina’s Guillermo Vilas.

1. Ken Rosewall: 90 wins
