The Laver Cup returns to London’s O2 Arena from September 25 to 27, the second consecutive year the event has been staged in the English capital. Team Europe, captained by Yannick Noah, will look to reclaim the trophy on home soil after Andre Agassi’s Team World won last year’s edition 15-9 in San Francisco.
This year’s field is headlined by Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev for Team Europe, while Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur lead Team World across three days of action under the competition’s progressive scoring system.
Unlike a standard tour event, prize money at the Laver Cup isn’t distributed by how far a player progresses through rounds, since there are no rounds in the traditional sense, just one team competing against another across three days.
Instead, the payout structure is determined primarily by the team’s overall result, with a separate layer of appearance fees added based on each player’s individual ranking.

The purse

The total purse for 2026 stands at $1.5 million. Every player on the winning team receives an equal $250,000 payout, regardless of their individual win-loss record during the competition.
That has been the case since the 2023 edition, when the format was changed to eliminate payouts for the losing team. This marked a departure from the event’s earlier structure, used between 2017 and 2022, when losing players still received $125,000 each from a larger total prize pool of $2.25 million.
The payout
On top of that team payout, every player, win or lose, also receives an individual appearance fee. This figure is calculated using each player’s ATP singles ranking from the Monday following this year’s French Open, rather than their ranking at the time of the Laver Cup.
Under this calculation, Alcaraz commands the highest appearance fee on Team Europe, having been ranked No. 2 despite missing Roland Garros. Zverev follows closely at No. 3 after winning the title at the same tournament.
On the World side, de Minaur draws the biggest appearance fee of that squad, based on his No. 9 ranking at the same cutoff point. A key point is that nothing at the Laver Cup affects the ATP rankings. Wins and losses here carry zero ranking points.
