Canadian Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

The Canadian Open does not offer equal pay for men and women.
The specter of mass withdrawals looms over the Canadian Open 2025, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Jack Draper are some of the big names who have pulled out. Local favourites Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton carry American hopes in the ATP draw, where Alexander Zverev is set to be the top seed.
On the other hand, Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Jessica Pegula are the top three WTA seeds, with several exciting match-ups to look forward to in this section. Underdogs like Emma Raducanu, Maria Sakkari, and Venus Williams arrive in Toronto on the back of solid outings in Washington.
The prize money for the Canadian Open 2025 has seen notable increases, especially in the singles categories for both the ATP and WTA tours.
On the WTA side, the women’s singles champion will earn $752,275 (approximately ₹6.28 crore), which marks a substantial increase of $228,790 (around ₹1.91 crore) from the $523,485 (₹4.37 crore) awarded to two-time defending champion Jessica Pegula in 2024.

In comparison, the ATP singles champion in 2025 will receive $1,124,380 (around ₹9.39 crore). This is up from the $1,049,460 (₹8.75 crore) earned by Alexei Popyrin when he won the title in 2024. The increase of roughly ₹63 lakh represents a more modest rise of about 7.1%. Additionally, the winning ATP doubles team will split a prize of $457,150 (around ₹3.82 crore).
The total prize money commitment for the 2025 edition of the Canadian Open, officially called the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers, stands at $9,193,540 (approximately ₹76.7 crore). The increase in payouts, particularly on the women’s side, signals a positive step toward equal payment to both genders, with the tournament set to reward both men and women equally from 2027 onwards.
