Jannik Sinner will face arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz in his first-ever French Open final.

ATP World No. #1 Jannik Sinner will lock horns with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz for the 12th time on the tour. The Spanish tennis star leads Sinner in their head-to-head record with seven wins. The two-time Australian Open champion is also winless against Alcaraz in their last four fixtures. However, the Parisian clay has seen multiple top stars lose their strength under pressure.

The 23-year-old Italian has made numerous records with his victories, and if he wins the French Open, he will create a few more records and also join a few exclusive lists. Thus, without further ado, let’s take a look at the few records Jannik Sinner can make if he wins French Open 2025:

3. Become only third Italian player to win singles event at French Open in Open Era

Only two Italian players have won the singles event at the Roland Garros in the Open Era. Adriano Panatta defeated former American tennis player Harold Solomon to become the first Italian to win the clay Grand Slam in 1976.

Meanwhile, Francesca Schiavone gave Italy its second singles French Open title in 2010, beating Australia’s Samantha Stosur in the summit clash. Jannik Sinner can become the third Italian tennis star to win the coveted prize.

2. Become first Italian player to win 20 or more consecutive matches in Grand Slams

Already riding on it, Jannik Sinner is currently on a 20-match unbeaten streak in Grand Slams, and he has a golden opportunity to make the tally 21 while adding a Major title to his arsenal. After Novak Djokovic, he’s the only active player to make a 20-game or more unbeaten streak in Grand Slams.

He’s currently level with Swedish legend Bjorn Borg and American icon John McEnroe in the stat, as they also reached 20 consecutive wins in their primes. With one victory, he will jump to the seventh spot in the exclusive list. Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic leads the tally with 30 matches unbeaten in Grand Slams.

1. Become first Italian player to win men’s singles title at French Open in the 21st century

If Jannik Sinner beats Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 French Open final, he would become the first Italian tennis player to win the men’s singles title in the 21st century. Additionally, he has become the first Italian to reach the Roland Garros final since 2000, having defeated Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.

If he beats the defending champion without dropping a single set, Sinner will also join the elite list of players who have won a Grand Slam title without dropping a single set.
