Where does Jannik Sinner's Grand Slam win streak stand in tennis history?

Jannik Sinner is currently on a 19-match unbeaten streak before facing Novak Djokovic in the French Open 2025 semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner, who returned to tennis last month after serving a three-month ban for testing positive for clostebol, is on a mission to script history. He beat Madrid Open winner Casper Ruud 6-0, 6-1 in Rome but eventually lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
However, he has picked up a formidable form on the Parisian clay. Sinner has reached the semi-finals without dropping a single set and has bageled three opponents. Jiri Lechcka had a tough time against the ATP World No. #1, losing 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. Sinner has asserted his dominance on the red dirt and is set to face his biggest challenge yet in the last four. Novak Djokovic will face the Italian tennis star in the semi-finals.
The Italian tennis star is riding a 19-match unbeaten streak and will face three-time French Open champion Novak Djokovic in the semi-final. Sinner has already surpassed Carlos Alcaraz’s record of 15 matches unbeaten in Grand Slam after beating French veteran Richard Gasquet in straight sets.
After stunning Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik in the last eight, Sinner has leapfrogged Andre Agassi, Mats Wilander, and Boris Becker, who had won 18 consecutive matches in the coveted competitions. If the Italian tennis star wins the 2025 French Open, he would surpass Swedish legend Bjorn Borg and American icon John McEnroe. The two have a 20-match unbeaten streak in Grand Slams.
Jannik Sinner is ninth on the all-time list, behind top names such as tennis legends Rod Laver, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and more. If he secures the title, he’ll become the owner of the seventh-longest unbeaten streak in the Open Era. Sinner started his run at Flushing Meadows in 2024 and continued it at the 2025 Australian Open.
He’s performing well and is only two wins away from holding a 21-win record. Except for his semi-final opponent, Novak Djokovic, the 24-year-old is the only active player in the top 10. With the grass season tingling at the end of Roland Garros, Sinner would have a great opportunity to overtake Rafael Nadal and Jimmy Connors’ records of 25 unbeaten matches.
Sinner’s run has placed him above a few of the greatest tennis players in history, and the fact that it can be further extended adds more weight to his status.
