List of singles players to achieve Career Grand Slam

Steffi Graf leads the pack with four Career Grand Slams.
Throughout its history, several changes to the Grand Slam tennis tournaments have affected the number of titles won by different players. These have included the opening of the French national championships to international players in 1925, the elimination of the challenge round in 1922, and the admission of professional players in 1968 (the commencement of the Open Era).
All these tournaments are listed based on the modern definition of a tennis major. Not when they were officially recognized by the ILTF. Grand Slam tournaments are four annual major tennis events played in the Open Era, which began in 1968 to replace the Amateur Era.

The Australian and U.S. tournaments were officially recognized by the ILTF in 1924, and the French Championships followed a year later in 1925 when it became open to all international players. The United States Lawn Tennis Association (USLTA) had several grievances with the ILTF and refused to join when it was formed in 1913.
A Grand Slam victory stands as one of the greatest individual achievements in tennis. Several iconic players have been unable to do justice to their talent in terms of grand slam titles won. A career Grand Slam is when a player manages to win all four Slams- the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.

Very few players make it into this elite list and are thus called legends of the game. A career Slam highlights the player’s domination and versatility as they have excelled in different conditions and varying surfaces.
Each tournament demands a unique facet of the game. Hard court Slams like the Australian Open and US Open require fast gameplay and quick response time, while clay tournaments such as Roland Garros need incredible fitness and stamina to sustain long rallies.
Wimbledon though seeks a combination of rapid play and longevity on the court, making it arguably the toughest to win out of the four. 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic won his maiden French Open title in 2016, to complete his first career slam.
The Serbian achieved this rare feat twice more, to become the only men’s singles player to have completed a career slam thrice. In the women’s division, Germany legend Steffi Graf leads the pack with four career Grand Slams.
