Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Arthur Fils prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Barcelona Open 2025

Stefanos Tsitsipas is a four-time finalist at Barcelona.
It was a forgettable week for Stefanos Tsitsipas in Monte-Carlo, where he fell short of defending his title. The three-set loss to eventual finalist Lorenzo Musetti meant that Tsitsipas fell out of the ATP Top 15 for the first time since October 2018.
The Greek, currently ranked 16th, has dropped eight spots following his quarter-final exit in Monte-Carlo, where he was trying to win his third consecutive title. A hard-fought 7-6(4), 6-4 win over Seb Korda gave Tstisipas a fifth successive quarter-final appearance at the venue. In the opening round, he breezed past Korda’s countryman Reilly Opelka for a 6-2, 6-2 win in 70 minutes.
Against Korda, the No. 3 seed found an opening only in the third game of the second set when he broke the American’s serve. There was very little to tell the players apart until that point.
Tsitsipas, looking to redeem himself in Barcelona, will now take on Frenchman Arthur Fils at the Pista Rafa Nadal in Friday evening’s session.
Fils marked his entry into the last eight after back-to-back wins over Spaniards Pablo Carreno Busta and Pedro Martinez, winning both matches in straight sets. The 20-year-old Fils took only 68 minutes for the 6-3, 6-2 win against Martinez.

Preview
Arthur Fils, who recorded his career-high ranking of No. 14 earlier this week, looks poised to climb further when he takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas for a third head-to-head match on Friday. The seventh-seed Fils has a 2-0 lead over Tsitispas ahead of their quarter-final clash in the Barcelona Open.
Tsitsipas will have a Barcelona Open semi-final in his sights even as he looks to extend his seven-match winning streak at ATP 500 events. The 26-year-old Greek recently snapped a string of ATP 500-level defeats when he won the Dubai Championships in February.
A semi-final face-off against top seed and two-time Barcelona Open champion Carlos Alcaraz could await the winner of the match between Fils and Tsitsipas. It will be a crucial week for Tsitsipas as he looks for a way back into the ATP top ten, with the upcoming quarter-final a must-win affair if he is to avoid a further drop in the rankings.

Match Prediction
While Fils has dominated Tsitsipas in their previous encounters, the two players are to square off for the first time on clay, which would hand the Greek an edge in their upcoming match.
Tsitsipas exacted revenge on Sebastian Korda for the defeat in Miami last month. The result reversed the 7-6(4), 6-3 loss to the American in Florida to go up 2-1 in their head-to-head.
The Greeks’ next challenge will be to earn his first win against Fils. The French World No. 14 has been in good form recently, making three straight ATP 1000 quarter-finals at Indian Wells, Miami, and the Monte Carlo Masters.
The stage moving to clay gives Tsitsipas a leg up, and Fils will have to work extra hard for a positive result. The Greek is 10-3 in the last three editions of the Barcelona Open and has reached the title round twice in the last three years
Both players have yet to drop a set, but Fils has the added advantage of not being broken so far. Tsitsipas is chasing his first title in Barcelona despite reaching the championship round four times (2018, 2021, 2023, 2024). His desire to improve on his runner-up status and familiarity with the conditions should be enough to tip the scales in Tsitsipas’ favour.
Result: Tstisipas will win in three sets
