Carlos Alcaraz captured his fourth Grand Slam title after winning Wimbledon 2024.
The Wimbledon 2024 men’s singles final saw Carlos Alcaraz triumph over Novak Djokovic. He defeated Djokovic 6-2, 6-2 7-6 (4) in two hours and 27 minutes. Alcaraz is yet to lose in a Grand Slam final as he has played four of them.
Alcaraz hit 42 winners in the final against Djokovic and never seemed in doubt while being on the court. But, on the other side of the court, Djokovic ended as the runner-up at Wimbledon for the second consecutive year.
The 37-year is yet to solve the Alcaraz puzzle on the grass courts. Last year, he managed to take two sets off the young Spaniard. This time, he could only win eight games in the match. Djokovic had a ray of hope in the final set when he saved three Championship points and forced it to a tiebreaker.
But, Alcaraz erased all doubts of a comeback and made sure the match was done in the tiebreaker. The four-time Grand Slam winner did not slip under pressure and instead pushed harder for a well-deserved win.
