The Taekeui led side, who thus finished at the top of the pool B standings, were drawn to face Bahrain in the semifinal. Another close match ensued, before the Southeast Asian nation came through 25-23 25-22 23-25 25-20.
Indonesia, meanwhile, failed to win a single set against Korea in their first game. However, they managed to pull themselves up and secure hard-fought victories against Qatar and Thailand, with both the matches going into the deciding set.
The Jasen-led side finished off the preliminary round, with a comprehensive 3-1 win versus Oman, to finish second in the standings.
They had a herculean task in front of them in the semi-final, as they were not only up against an Indian side which had lost a solitary set in five matches in the tournament, but also had to weather the vociferous crowd at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex.
In a match which ebbed and flowed, the World Number #48 side held their nerve a tad better than their opponents, prevailing 15-25 26-24 25-20 19-25 15-13.
The Indonesians would be looking to avenge their defeat in the pool stage and script a grand underdog story, against one of the best teams in the continent.
