Top three possible replacements for Cody Rhodes if he is forced to miss WWE Night of Champions
WWE Monday Night began this week with a thrashing. After Brock Lesnar savagely crushed Cody Rhodes backstage, the American Nightmare sold a broken arm for the remainder of the evening. Regardless, Cody's participation in WWE Night of Champions 2023 in Saudi Arabia is under scrutiny.
On WWE RAW last night, Brock Lesnar repeatedly assaulted The American Nightmare, and it was suggested that Rhodes may have broken his arm in the process. After last night's RAW, Triple H went to Cody's locker room to attempt to persuade him to cancel his bout against The Beast Incarnate, but Rhodes refused.
There is, without a doubt, a valid explanation for this. With Cody Rhodes in the mix, the fight has a better probability of being called off. Disqualification might be the alternative consequence.
So, here are 3 possible replacements for Cody Rhodes at WWE Night of Champions
3. Randy Orton
According to Randy Orton's father, he is not ready to set foot in the ring. He said doctors have advised him to stop Orton from his in-ring comeback. Randy Orton has been injured for over a year now and has not been seen for over a year now. But who knows that WWE universe might get a chance to see "The Viper" working at his best or with his ring rust, but whatever it is it would be one happy moment if "The Viper" return to face Lesnar.
Also, Randy Orton is a logical replacement opponent because of Lesnar and Orton's old rivalry and Cody Rhodes being part of his stable in his early career, many dots might get connected which might let us see a "RKO" outta nowhere.
2. Gunther
Gunther is having one hell of a time in the WWE main roster as the leader of the stable Imperium. He is the current Intercontinental Champion. He is all set to face Mustafa Ali at WWE Night of Champions, but who knows he may fight 2 matches on the same night. But nothing is confirmed. WWE has been trying to push GUNTHER as one of the biggest stars to set foot in the squared circle.
The In-Ring General is one good opponent for "The Beast Incarnate". When it comes about just sheer physicality, GUNTHER is a crazy strong-style wrestler which would help him to brace the impact given by Brock Lesnar. But, if this match-up happens it will be interesting to see, who would win out of the two.
1. Drew McIntyre
The thunderous clash between Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar can be within the realms of the WWE universe. Both superstars sparked a captivating and fiercely contested rivalry that left audiences on the edge of their seats in 2021 during the COVID pandemic. The seeds of this epic feud were sown when McIntyre emerged triumphant as the victor of the 2020 Men's Royal Rumble match, earning himself a golden ticket to challenge Lesnar for the coveted WWE Championship at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 36.
The stage was set, and the air was charged with anticipation as McIntyre, a force to be reckoned with, stood face-to-face with the seemingly invincible Lesnar. In a monumental clash that defied expectations, McIntyre unleashed a barrage of relentless assaults, delivering a symphony of Claymore Kicks that reverberated through the WWE Universe. With each thunderous impact, the hopes of McIntyre's fans soared higher, until the decisive blow landed, etching his name in the annals of WWE history. The champion's mantle was adorned with the tenacious Scottish warrior at that time. But, now with Brock Lesnar in doubts about having an opponent at Night of Champions, it is the best way to bring the Scottish Warrior, reigniting their rivalry.
