CM Punk's contract has been terminated by AEW following the investigation reports of the backstage physical confrontation between Punk and Jack Perry. Rumors of Punk returning to WWE has been going viral in the wrestling industry.

At AEW All In London, CM Punk and Jack Perry were involved in a backstage argument and it turned physical moments before the match between CM Punk and Samoa Joe. After All In, it was reported that CM Punk and Jack Perry were suspended and an investigation committee was assigned to investigate it.

Following the reports and suggestion of the AEW officials, Tony Khan fired CM Punk and legitimately declined his contract due to disciplinary actions. Following CM Punk's termination, rumor started going viral that he will be returning to WWE.

CM Punk WWE return?

As Punk returning to WWE is being the talking point in the wrestling industry, Fightful Select has reported the possibility of Punk's return to WWE and how he will be received by the Stamford based company.

As per Frightful's report, they are not sure if there is any non-compete clause with the contract or a non severance period. If there is non-compete, Punk could be moving to another company but it is completely his decision whether to wrestle or not.

As of WWE, Punk has some unfinished business with some of the top wrestlers of the company. When he last visited backstage on an episode of Raw, he was said to leave the arena.

As per reports, there are no real expectations or plans for Punk to return to WWE. As Triple H being the head of the creative team, there is a possibility as he is in a mentality of "never say never".

Wrestling Votes previous report says,

"I was told, I mean, pretty straightforward, that Triple H wants nothing to do with CM Punk, and even less to do with Phil Brooks. Well, that's what I was told and that was July, I did ask over the last couple of days, and it has softened a little bit from what I understand. I still think there's animosity, I still think there's a lot of pieces that need to be picked up between the two of them specifically. But Hunter learned from Vince (McMahon) and Vince made amends with everybody. So to say that doors closed is ridiculous on anybody's part, especially in this 'war' that's happening right now... I would say never say never. Absolutely.”

Good to note, Although Punk has been terminated from his contract from AEW, his merchandise is still available in AEW shop for sales.
