Punk is one of the legendary wrestlers in the wrestling world.

The Real World Champion CM Punk was reportedly involved in a backstage confrontation at AEW All In at the Wembley Stadium in London. It was reported that CM Punk and Jack Perry had been involved in a backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which went physical moments before the match between CM Punk and Samoa Joe.

Backstage reports later confirmed that both Jack Perry and CM Punk were suspended from AEW after investigation. Which made Punk miss three important ongoing events in his home town Chicago. The latest report from AEW and Tony Khan confirms that CM Punk has been terminated from his contract with AEW.

CM Punk’s Termination

On September 2 2023, All Elite Wrestling posted a statement on its official social media accounts, with the caption "Statement from All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan".

On the Statement,

"All Elite Wrestling has terminated the wrestler and employment agreements between Philip Brooks (CM Punk) and AEW with cause, effective immediately. The termination was confirmed today by Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW."

Reason for Termination

AEW Statement continued stating the reason for his termination. It says,

"The termination follows a weeklong internal investigation of an incident occurring backstage at AEW - All In London on Sunday, August 27. Following the investigation, the AEW Discipline Committee met and later covered with outside legal counsel before making a unanimous recommendation to Khan that CM Punk be terminated with cause"

Tony Khan on termination,

“Phil played an important role within AEW and I thank him for his contributions. The termination of his AEW contracts with cause is ultimately my decision, and mine alone. Of course, I wish I didn't have to share this news, which may come as a disappointment to many of our fans. Nevertheless, I am making the decision in the best interests of many amazing people who make AEW possible every week - our talent, staff, venue operators and many others whose efforts are unsung but essential to bringing our fans great shows on television and at arenas and stadiums throughout the world."

Being terminated from AEW, what's next for CM Punk? Will he retire from professional wrestling once again? Or will he return to WWE? Share your thoughts in the comments.
