Backstage report on AJ Styles' potential WWE return
AJ Styles returned to television and was drafted to SmackDown with The O.C. as a part of the 2023 WWE Draft. He competed in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament and advanced to the finals by defeating Edge & Rey Mysterio in the first round and Bobby Lashley in the second round. At Night of Champions, AJ Styles fought Seth Rollins and failed to become the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion. However he carried a weekly feud with Karrion Kross for more than three months and finally ended the feud.
Styles then entered a feud with The Bloodline, as a result of Jey Uso disrespecting The O.C. teammate Mia Yim (Michin). Where AJ Styles went to ask Jimmy about his acts on Michin, where Solo Sikoa attacked Styles from behind. The feud began there as Styles had a match and had to deal with both Solo Sikoa and Jey Uso. Bloodline not only messed with ‘The Phenomenal One’ but also with ‘The GOAT’ John Cena. When Jimmy and Solo Sikoa tried to brutally assault Cena in the ring, Styles came to Cena’s aid and saved him.
The following week AJ Styles and John Cena teamed up and called for a fight with Solo and Jimmy, which was accepted and the contract signing was announced later the same night. S Cena signed the contract, AJ Styles was brutally assaulted by Solo & Jimmy, which made him unconscious and unable to compete as he went on to the medical emergency. Styles was replaced by LA Knight dnd they had a win against Bloodline. Since Styles has been absent for more than a month, a backstage update has now been released on his return.
