Carlito vs Santos Escobar announced for WWE Survivor Series 2023

Carlito vs Santos Escobar has been announced for Survivor Series 2023 following the betrayal of Rey Mysterio and dissatisfaction with Carlito. Here is how the build was made in the recent weeks within the LWO.

Last week on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio blamed Logan Paul for stealing his United States title with cheap tricks by knocking him out with the brass knuckles. Carlito interfered with Rey Mysterio and said that Rey was blaming the wrong person and the actual one to be blamed was Santos Escobar, who left the Brass Knuckles for Logan Paul to use on him. This triggered Escobar as he got ready to fight Carlito for blaming him, however Rey separated them and Escobar left the ring.

Escobar turns on Rey Mysterio

Following the heat, Carlito (with Joaquin Wilde & Cruze Del Toro) had a match against Bobby Lashley (with Street Profits), where Street Profits attacked Wilde and Del Toro leading to a brawl ringside. The chaos distracted Carlito as Lashley speared him for a win.

After the match, Street Profits and Lashley attacked Carlito, where Escobar didn’t save him, instead watched him being brutally beaten. Rey Mysterio with the steel chair came to save Carlito, where Escobar attacked Rey Mysterio from the back, pushed him to the ring post and crushed his leg between the stairs.

Following the merciless attack by Escobar, Rey announced that he had knee surgery and will come back to take revenge on Escobar. To which Escobar said that he doesn’t want him back in WWE again.

Santos Escobar leaves LWO 

On the recent episode of SmackDown, Escobar brought back his own entrance theme rather than the regular LWO theme. Escobar said that he learned from the recent incidents that meeting the real-life heroes is one of the baddest decisions of his life. Escobar then said that he saw Rey as a father figure, but he was now able to realize that Dominik was right.

Escobar said that he is unhappy with Carlito in LWO, for whom Rey betrayed Escobar. Escobar doesn’t wanna see Rey in WWE again and wishes his knee surgery to not be successful, get infected and amputate his leg as a result.

Zelina Vega who watched him through the monitor couldn’t resist Escobar talking trash on Rey. She came to the ring and slapped Escobar, after being disrespected by him. Following that, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro came to the ring for Vega, as Escobar attacked both of them. Carlito came to save them, and Escobar retreated.

Carlito vs Santos Escobar Announced

Later the same night, it was announced that Carlito vs Santos Escobar was announced for Survivor Series 2023, which will be held on November 24, 2023 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, marking the singles PPV debut match for Escobar and first singles PPV match for Carlito after years.
