CM Punk’s first rivalry following WWE return confirmed
Last Saturday night at Survivor Series: WarGames, CM Punk made his surprise return at the final moments of the show. His return generated a huge reaction from the WWE Universe all across the world and from the home crowd at Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Although the wrestling fans burst out in happy tears, it was reported that a lot of talents in the locker room had mixed reactions at the back.
CM Punk then appeared on Raw and had a live microphone session. He said that he had a great reception from the locker room and PWTorch’s report confirmed that from the wrestlers backstage, who stated that he was “very nice”, “humble”, and “in a good mood” and talked with almost all the talents. However, Punk believed that only a few were not happy as they weren’t able to reach the bar that he set before leaving the company. Probaby teasing of his first feud.
CM Punk to feud with Seth Rollins
Sports Illustrated gave an update that Seth Rollins is the first feud of CM Punk after his return and there are future plans for Punk to have a feud with Roman Reigns. The report also states that Rollins vs Punk could probably be the WrestleMania 40-Night 1 Main event.
“There are plans for Punk to feud with Roman Reigns, Sports Illustrated has learned. But it will not be Punk against Reigns first, as that spot belongs to Rollins. A feud between Rollins and Punk is a massive positive for both men.”
“Punk can still wrestle at a high-level, but his work will only be enhanced in the ring with a world-class wrestler like Rollins. While it is not the current favorite, there is plenty of reason to believe Punk-Rollins could serve as the main event for the opening night of WrestleMania 40. For Rollins, that would simply not be the case without Punk.”
Heat between Seth Rollins & CM Punk
On the leaked video tape of post-Survivor Series: WarGames, Seth Rollins was too angry on CM Punk’s arrival, he yelled Punk with the ‘F’ word asking him to leave, and even tried to have a physical fight with him, but was stopped by WWE officials, wrestlers and commentators.
Rollins on a WWE Live Event addressed Punk’s return saying, “I’m not going to waste any more breath on anyone who has been gone for eight years, has done nothing but try to tear this place down. I want to use my breath to talk about the people who worked to make WWE the hottest ticket in town.”
Following night on Raw, Rollins to CM Punk chants said that he is not going to waste his time by speaking about a “hypocrite”. However turned his focus to the World Heavyweight Championship and his next opponent Jey Uso and previous opponent Drew McIntyre, like nothing happened at Survivor Series. It seems like Rollins will be done with existing challenges in the upcoming weeks and enter feud with Punk.
