Survivor Series will be the final pay-per-view for this year.

WWE Survivor Series 2023 is the next pay-per-view following Crown Jewel, which takes place within the next three weeks. This event is the upcoming 37th annual Survivor Series PPV, scheduled for November 22 (Saturday) at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It’s noteworthy that WWE has hosted events in this arena twice before, in 1989 and 2019.

WWE Survivor Series 2023 will serve as the final pay-per-view for the main roster this year, as there are no additional PPVs planned for the main roster in December. However, NXT will have one more PPV for the year, which is ‘NXT Deadline’ on December 9.

Survivor Series is one of WWE’s big five events, alongside the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Money in the Bank. It is the second-longest-running annual event in the company’s history, dating back to 1987.

Traditionally, Survivor Series has featured tag team elimination matches, where more than four members from each team compete, with the last member of the surviving team declared the winner. In 2022, WWE introduced the War Games concept to the main roster, featuring two teams battling inside a cage surrounding two rings.

There was some speculation about whether WWE would stick with the traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match or continue with the War Games format. The company has now confirmed its choice.

WWE Survivor Series War Games

During WWE Crown Jewel 2023, WWE announced the return of War Games matches for WWE Survivor Series 2023 in Rosemont, Illinois. WWE initially brought War Games from NXT, where it was a traditional pay-per-view event from 2017 to 2021.

Its success and popularity prompted its move to the main roster. The match was originally created by Dusty Rhodes in 1987 and was featured in the National Wrestling Alliance, Jim Crockett Promotions, and World Championship Wrestling.

WWE has not provided any hints regarding the participants in this year’s War Games matches, including whether a Women’s War Games match will be featured. More information is expected in the next two weeks, as the third weekend includes the Survivor Series War Games event. There is also speculation about whether Cody Rhodes, whose father is Dusty Rhodes, the original creator of War Games, will be involved in the match.
