The December 22, 2023 episode of Friday Night SmackDown was pre-taped on December 15, 2023 from Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States. As the holidays were announced for the talents from December 19 to 24 the complete show was double taped last week. WWE SmackDown (December 22, 2023): Match Cards & Spoilers
U.S. Title Tournament [Semi Finals]: Santos Escobar vs Bobby Lashley
This week’s SmackDown will kick-start with the United States Championship Tournament semifinals where Santos Escobar will be facing Bobby Lashley in a singles match. Lashley will be having the early control but Los Lotharios (Humberto Carillo & Angel Garza) will be returning to distract Lashley and win the match. Lotharios will be eventually aligning with Escobar to form a new faction.
NXT North American Championship match- Dragon Lee vs Butch
The Newly crowned NXT North American Champion will be defending his championship against Butch and will retain the title in his first ever title defense. However Lee defended it on NXT and was telecasted first, this could be claimed as his second title defense.
Who faces Roman Reigns first?
AJ Style will give the explanation on why he attacked LA Knight and said that he would be facing Roman Reigns first. LA Knight would interrupt him and claims that he is the first in line looking for a Crown Jewel rematch. Orton will then interrupt them and say that he has a long unfinished business with Reigns as he took him out of action for 18 years.
Nick Aldis will address the situation and will announce a Triple Threat match between Randy Orton, AJ Styles & LA Knight at SmackDown New Year’s Revolution. The winner of the match would be facing Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2024.
Holiday Havoc Tag Team Match- Damage CTRL vs Bianca Belair, Shotzi, Zelina Vega & Michin
Belair and her team will be out to the ring on Shotzi’s tank. The match would involve the use of Christmas themed weapons surrounding the ring. The Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn would return during the match and attack Kairi Sane and cost the match for Damage CTRL.
U.S. Title Tournament [Semi Finals]: Kevin Owens vs Carmelo Hayes
Both Kevin Owens and Carmelo Hayes will deliver a great fight inside the square circle. Owens will defeat Melo and advance to the finals to face Escobar. After the match Owens will show his respect to Hayes.
AJ Style vs Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa will be controlling the initial moments of the match, however when Styles was about to take control, Roman Reigns attacked Styles and caused a disqualification. After the match, Roman would try to Samoan drop Styles, but Randy Orton & LA Knight would come to the ring. The Bloodline would retreat after a couple of hard shots to the face. Orton, Knight and Styles will turn on each other and leave Knight standing in the ring tall.

This week’s SmackDown will be telecasted on Saturday Morning at 6.30 AM on Sony Sports 1 and Sony Sports 1 HD. WWE premium users can stream the show on the WWE Network.
