Eight Superstars WWE must re-sign to a new deal in 2024
WWE has been keen in hiring and firing of talents and has made a lot of changes inside the company. In 2023, we witnessed a number of wrestlers being released as free agents and signed some of the hottest free agents from the rival promotions.
We have heard previously that the company is urging to sign the existing talents for a multi-year deal to reduce free agency and last-minute negotiations. We have witnessed some of the top stars signing contracts with great compensation and big money deals. However, here are the eight major stars WWE must re-sign next.
Major Stars WWE must re-sign to a new contract next year
The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods)
The New Day is one of the most successful tag team trios and is considered as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Ever since they are united as one they work as one, drafted as one and being in the company as one. It was said that their contracts are about to end by late 2024. Their contribution to the company is marginally high that the company will approach for a contract re-signing very soon. Although Big E’s contract could be extended for injury time, the company might not risk their contract at the last minute.
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre’s contract with WWE would be coming to an end by mid-2024 and he has never re-signed the contract yet. McIntyre’s second run with WWE has made him the face of the company during the pandemic era and is now the greatest heel in the Monday Nights. He has already shown his frustrations of not being the champion again and has even addressed his contract status in the past. It would be a great loss for the company to release the Scottish Warrior as there might be a great deal from the rival companies for him.
Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens signed his first WWE contract in WWE in 2014. He is a great addition to the roster and is currently one of the top babyfaces of WWE. He signed his current contract in 2022 which is valid until late 2024. The Prizefighter will have a great bid if he becomes a free agent, however would not be risking him until the last minute and would approach him with a contract re-signing anytime soon.
Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch
It was previously reported that the powerful Grand Slam Couple, Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch’s contract would be coming to an end by July 2024 at the same time. As Becky recently spoke about her desire to retire in WWE and the Visionary’s statement of WWE being his home is worthy enough to say that they might be interested in staying with the company, however their release could bring them a lot of money from the competitors.
They might be contacted by the company sooner for the contract re-signing with a huge money deal as Becky is already in a big money deal with the company.
Sheamus
The Celtic Warrior Sheamus’ contract is also nearing an end by mid-2024 as most of the wrestlers are coming to the end. He is one of the greatest wrestlers the company had, but had shown frustration to the creatives for not giving him the right push and an engaging storyline. He is currently on hiatus due to injury, and there is no information whether his contract will be extended or not.
The company must urge to grab a new deal with him as Sheamus might be a great fit in AEW. Edge who had his last match against Sheamus in WWE moved himself to AEW, they might create a better storyline there as he currently lags it here.
