WWE in talks with Cody Rhodes for new multi-year contract extension

Cody Rhodes made a huge return to WWE in 2022 at WrestleMania 39 Day 1. He has evolved into a top star of the company and has been proving to be a great asset for the company. The American Nightmare is the top babyface of the company, who produced some of the best matches, has great connection with the audience and maintains great numbers on his stats. It is reported that Company is interested in signing Cody Rhodes for a long term contract to continue his successful run with WWE for a long time.

Cody Rhodes’ WWE contract extension talks

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that WWE has been looking to re-sign Cody Rhodes for a long term contract extension imminently. It is also reported that the multi-year contract signing has been a priority in the company after the TKO merger. The company has previously re-signed multiple top talents for long-term deals including Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes.

“Sources have confirmed to Fightful that WWE has been engaged in talks with Cody Rhodes about a multi-year contract extension. Based on what we’re told, WWE is trying to lock him down long term. Of late, WWE has extended the contracts of Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. Rhodes would be a monumental re-signing for the company.”

However, there isn’t any information whether Cody had signed the contract extension or not or what the potential negotiations between the company and Cody.

Rhodes is currently involved in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura, who has been playing mind games with him and looks to bring down his legacy. Cody has also announced his entry to the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match and is looking forward to finishing his storyline. Will he be successful in his story? If yes, will it play a major role in his contract negotiations?
