The MITB briefcase guarantees the winner a title shot anytime, anywhere!
WWE Money in the Bank is a multi-star ladder match that was introduced in 2005 by Chris Jericho. The match is based where a briefcase with a championship contract hanging on top of the ring, and usually, six participants battle among themselves to climb the ladder and grab the MITB briefcase.
The winner of the match is awarded a contract that they can cash in anytime, anywhere for any Championship in their division.
The namesake PLE has been produced annually since 2010, with each year two stars from both divisions claiming the briefcase and trying to cash in at the right time to capture a WWE title. The match used to take place at The Grandest Stage’ WrestleMania, from 2005 to 2010.
The briefcase has been held by many legends, including John Cena, Kane, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Brock Lesnar, and The Miz, among others. However, there are not even a handful of stars when it comes to multiple MITB wins. Here we will take a look at such stars who are multi-time MITB winners.
2. Seth Rollins
Going into the 2025 men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, ‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins already had a win from 2014. He even successfully cashed in on Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship.
Rollins, with the help of his henchmen, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, managed to clear the entire field and bag the briefcase once again at the 2025 edition on June 7 at the Intuit Dome. With this win, he has now joined the list of elite stars who have multiple MITB wins.

1. CM Punk
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk is the only man, as of now, apart from Rollins, who has won the MITB match multiple times. Punk first won the briefcase for the first time at WrestleMania 24 in 2008. He then cashed in on Edge to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
The Second City Saint then created history the next year by winning back-to-back Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. He bagged his second MITB win at WrestleMania 25 in 2009. Punk cashed in successfully on Jeff Hardy to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time.
Apart from Punk and Rollins, no other WWE superstars have won Money in the Bank more than once. Edge is an exception in this case as he has held the briefcase twice but has only one MITB win, which he registered in 20025 at WrestleMania 21.
This was the first ever MITB ladder, which Edge then famously cashed in on John Cena to bag the WWE Championship. However, the second time he didn’t actually win the briefcase in the ladder match but defeated Mr. Kennedy to win the briefcase in a singles match on the May 7, 2007, episode of Raw.
However, WWE does not officially recognize this as two MITB wins and only lists Punk and Rollins as multiple-time MITB winners. Will anyone be able to join this exclusive club? Voice your opinions in the comments section.
