The year 2024 saw some of the most remarkable in-ring showdowns in the history of WWE.

WWE easily had one of the most successful years in every aspect of the sports entertainment business. However, a major part of that success came through the in-ring matches that were showcased in front of the WWE Universe for the entire year.

From veterans of the past to the crop of the future, WWE produced some of the most remarkable matches of all time. Here is Khelnow’s list of the top 10 best matches of 2024:

10. Rhea Ripley vs Nia Jax: Elimination Chamber

The clash of the powerhouses took place in Perth, Australia, at Elimination Chamber PLE, where the hometown hero, Rhea Ripley, collided against Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s World Championship. The hard-hitting showdown with a jam-packed Australian crowd ended with Ripley putting down the Irresistible Force to retain her title.

9. Bayley vs IYO Sky: WrestleMania 40

The friends-turned-foes rivalry between Damage CTRL members Bayley and IYO Sky culminated at WrestleMania 40 for the WWE Women’s Championship. The two talented in-ring athletes put up an excellent match, with Bayely triumphing over IYO to win the championship in a sold crowd in Philadelphia.

8. Cody Rhodes vs AJ Styles: Clash at the Castle

After failing his previous attempt to dethrone Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title, AJ Styles challenged him again to a gruelling ‘I Quit’ match at WWE Clash at the Castle. With all rules out of the window, Styles and Rhodes used every foreign object to inflict pain on each other. In the end, Rhodes threatened to hit a handcuffed Styles with the steel steps, forcing him to utter I Quit and lose the match.

7. The New vs OG Bloodline: Crown Jewel

Solo Sikoa and two members of his Bloodline went up against the recently reunited Bloodline of Roman Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso at WWE Crown Jewel. The OG Bloodline struggled to keep their team intact for some part while Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu stayed united for the entire match. Towards the closing moments, Sikoa landed a thunderous Samoan Spike on Reigns to pick up the win for his stable.

6. Andrade vs LA Knight vs Carmelo Hayes: Crown Jewel

LA Knight inserted himself into the heated feud between Andrade El Idolo and Carmelo Hayes and was scheduled to defend his United States title at WWE Crown Jewel. The three talented stars traded blows, displayed exceptional in-ring athleticism and delivered a spectacular match that ended with LA Knight retaining his title in Saudi Arabia.

5. Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker: WWE RAW September 23rd

The year 2024 will always be memorable for Jey Uso as he achieved a lifelong dream. After multiple failures, Jey Uso earned the opportunity to challenge Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental title on the September 23rd edition of RAW. The match had the fans off their seats with “This is Awesome” chants erupting and ended much to their delight as Jey dethroned Breakker to win his first singles title in WWE.

4. Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch: WrestleMania 40

Becky Lynch walked into WrestleMania 40 less than 100% against the dominant Rhea Ripley with the WWE Women’s World title on the line. Despite her illness, The Man fought valiantly against Ripley in the opening match of the show and put up a stellar showdown. However, Rhea was able to put down Lynch and retain her title in one of the biggest matches of her career.

3. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins vs The Rock & Roman Reigns: WrestleMania 40

One of the biggest tag team matches in the history of WWE headlined Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 as Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins teamed up to battle Roman Reigns and The Rock in a high-stakes match. The four biggest WWE superstars of all time displayed one of the greatest in-ring showdowns of all time and ended with The Rock scoring the pin over Rhodes to secure the win for himself and Reigns.

2. Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns: WrestleMania 40

Following his team’s loss on WrestleMania 40 Night 1, Cody Rhodes battled Roman Reigns in a Bloodline Rules match. Despite the odds stacked against him and multiple interferences from Reigns’ Bloodline members, Rhodes fought through every obstacle, of course with some cavalry of his own, to end Roman Reigns’ historic World title reign and ‘Finish The Story’ in monumental fashion.

1. CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre: Bad Blood

The heated rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre ended with their third and final match at WWE Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell. The bitter foes inflicted massive pain on each other with a scene of blood, sweat and carnage all over the ringside. In the end, The Best in the World outlasted his rival to pick up the ring, displaying one of the most exceptional bouts of the year and putting an end to their seven-month-long saga.
