WWE Survivor Series has produced some of the most enthralling and jaw-dropping shows of all time.
WWE continues to extend the legacy of its 38-year-old show: WWE Survivor Series, which has been part of its ‘Big Four Event’ since its inception.
Over the years, the WWE Survivor Series event has seen memorable encounters, shocking debuts and enthralling moments that have solidified its legacy. Here are Khel Now’s Top 10 best WWE Survivor Series PPVs of all time:
10. Survivor Series 2003
The 2003 edition of WWE Survivor Series was defined by the civil war between Co-General Managers of RAW, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff. The feud was prevalent in every major match of the night. The main event saw both GM’s respective squads collide in a 5-on-5 traditional elimination match, which saw Randy Orton from the Bischoff team outlast Shawn Michaels from Steve’s side in the end. As per the stipulation, Eric Bischoff became the sole General Manager of RAW.
9. Survivor Series 2022
Following the success of the WarGames concept in NXT for a few years, it became a part of the WWE Survivor Series in 2022. Featuring two high-stakes War Games matches for the Men’s and Women’s sides, the Premium Live Event enthralled the main roster audience like no other, etching a prominent place in the history of the show.

8. Survivor Series 2001
WWE Survivor Series 2001 was the battle for supremacy and power between Team WWE, led by Vince McMahon, and Team Alliance (WCW and ECW), led by Paul Heyman, Stephanie and Shane McMahon.
Following major in-ring bouts featuring superstars from both sides, the main event came down to the 5-on-5 traditional elimination match between Team WWE and Alliance. With the existence of both entities on the line, it was a timely betrayal by Kurt Angle that led to The Rock pinning Steve Austin and scoring the win for Team WWE in grand fashion.
7. Survivor Series 1990
One of the most monumental editions of the WWE Survivor Series came in 1990. The show featured an array of legends such as Rick Rude, Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts, and Jimmy Snuka, all of who competed in traditional WWE Survivor Series elimination matches.
However, the most memorable moment on the show will always be the debut of The Undertaker as part of Team Million Dollar Man, beginning the career of one of the most important figures in the history of professional wrestling.
6. Survivor Series 2014
WWE Survivor Series 2014 was capped with the high-stakes battle between Team John Cena, looking to keep their jobs against Team Authority, looking to retain their power. Alongside some of the exciting bouts and the 5-on-5 traditional elimination match, the show will be remembered for the shocking debut of the man who never stepped foot inside a WWE arena, Sting.

5. Survivor Series 2012
The top-tier WWE superstars of the modern era defined the WWE Survivor Series 2012, which was main evented by the triple threat match featuring CM Punk, Ryback and John Cena for the WWE title. However, the show also marked the beginning of the future with the debut of The Shield, who made a huge statement on their first night on the main roster and the rest, as they say, was history.
4. Survivor Series 2023
The second edition of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames once again featured two prominent WarGames for both the Men’s and Women’s roster. The show also featured the return of Randy Orton as part of the WarGames match, who came back after a back injury had put him on the shelf for months.
But the highlight of the night was the shocking return of CM Punk at the end of the show, after vowing never to come back to the company ten years prior, leading to the All-State Arena in Chicago erupting with the loudest pop.

3. Survivor Series 1997
WWE Survivor Series 1997 finds an important place in the history of the event as one of the most controversial nights in WWE. Following the culmination of top-tier matches, the main event featured Bret Hart defending his WWE title against his arch-rival Shawn Michaels on Hart’s last night in the company.
After one of the most compelling wrestling actions, the final moments saw Michaels trapping Hart in the Sharpshooter and Vince McMahon ringing the bell despite Bret not submitting. This was Vince’s way of screwing the Hitman on his way out and famously came to be known as ‘The Montreal Screwjob.’
2. Survivor Series 2019
WWE Survivor Series 2019 was the first event in the show’s history to feature the participation of NXT, as well as being a part of a triple threat 5-on-5 traditional elimination match featuring RAW and SmackDown. Despite being the underdog, the NXT roster gave a tough battle to the main roster in all matches.
The match eventually came down to SmackDown’s Roman Reigns and NXT’s Keith Lee, who delivered a stellar performance. But despite Lee’s best efforts, it was Reigns who emerged victorious in the end.
1. Survivor Series 2002
Despite not featuring a traditional 5-on-5 elimination match, WWE Survivor Series 2002 was one of the best editions produced by the company. The show featured a variety of matches, such as title bouts, elimination matches and hard-hitting showdowns. The main event of the show saw the first-ever Elimination Chamber match take place for the World Heavyweight Championship, etching an important place in the history books of WWE.
