‘The Second City Saint’ battled Gunther for the title in Chicago
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk recently took to his Instagram handle to thank the Chicago crowd, in the past Punk also mocked Dominik Mysterio. This was due to Dirty Dom’s interference in the title clash between Gunther and Punk.
The next stop in WWE‘s 2024 Holiday Tour was CM Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The 12/29 live show of the holiday tour emanated from the Allstate Arena.
In the main event of the live show, a title clash between Gunther and Punk took place inside a steel cage. Gunther’s World Heavyweight title was on the line for the show in Punk’s hometown.
The Ring General retained the title against Punk due to the interference of Dominik who interfered during the match and attacked Punk with the steel cage gate when he was trying to exit the cage in order to win the match.
The Second City Saint took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the fans in New York, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Chicago for attending the Holiday Tour shows. He made sure to give a special thanks to his hometown crowd and the production crew for their support.
“New York, Pittsburg, Baltimore, Chicago. Thankyou to everyone who bought a ticcket to see us. Chicago. What can I say? I love you with all my heart. Been over ten years since I was able to wrestle in what I will always call the rosemont horizon. It is my privledge. Two million dollar houses, on our way to a third in Houston. Proud of everyone on the crew who worked hard and made it all possible except little Dominick Mysterio who is a greast twat. – Chicago Made Punk” He wrote in his Insta story.
However, Punk also appeared to take a subtle jab at Dirty Dom in his Instagram story. It seems that Punk is still irked by the interference that cost him the title match, and this post may be his way of expressing his frustration.
