‘The Best in the World’ has been a part of some memorable moments at Survivor Series over the years.

The rise of CM Punk as a main event caliber came in 2011. However, he had been a part of the WWE Survivor Series years before that. The event has been pivotal in Punk’s career, who has competed in every major match at Survivor Series over the years.

Moreover, it was last year at the WWE Survivor Series that CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE after ten years, at the end of the show, and changed the wrestling landscape forever. With Punk set to compete in this year’s event in the WarGames match, here is a look back at ‘The Best in the World’ all-time record at WWE Survivor Series:

Survivor Series 2006

In his own words, CM Punk grabbed the brass ring for the first time in WWE at Survivor Series 2006 in his inaugural performance at the event. Competing in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match, Punk was part of Team DX, led by Triple H and Shawn Michaels and also featuring The Hardy Boyz. The team picked a clean sweep over their opposition, Team Rated-RKO, led by Edge and Randy Orton and comprising Gregory Helms, Mike Knox, and Johnny Nitro, with Punk also scoring one elimination for his team.

Survivor Series 2007

CM Punk walked into WWE Survivor Series 2007 to defend the ECW Championship against then-WWE tag team champions The Miz and John Morrison. After working as a cohesive unit for the majority of the match, the two teammates finally imploded over their greed to become the World champions. This gave Punk the opening to capitalize on their fallen alliance and knock down The Miz with a GTS to retain the gold.

Survivor Series 2008

CM Punk was part of the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match at Survivor Series 2008, being part of Team Batista alongside Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, R-Truth, and the captain himself, Batista. They went up against Team Orton, which consisted of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry, Shelton Benjamin, and William Regal. Despite Punk scoring an early elimination, he was eliminated by Orton in the match, who led his team to victory over Batista’s squad.

Survivor Series 2009

In a surprising turn of events, CM Punk found himself as part of Randy Orton’s squad in the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match at Survivor Series 2009, a year after being on opposite sides. The team went up against the squad led by Punk’s former tag team partner, Kofi Kingston. Despite having a two-on-one advantage in the end, both CM Punk and Randy Orton fell to Kofi Kingston, who single-handedly led his team to victory.

Survivor Series 2011

Following the meteoric rise of CM Punk as a top-tier attraction in 2011, the Survivor Series event that year was a poignant part of his illustrious career. The Best in the World battled Alberto Del Rio for the WWE title in a classic in-ring encounter. The match ended with Punk tapping out Del Rio to the Anaconda Vice and beginning what became his 434-day reign as WWE Champion.

Survivor Series 2012

CM Punk walked into WWE Survivor Series 2012 as the WWE Champion, a year after winning the title at the same event. He defended his title against Ryback and John Cena in one of the most exhilarating matches in the show’s history. However, the shocking debut of The Shield led Punk to retain his title, who was later revealed to be secretly working with them.

Survivor Series 2013

The last WWE Survivor Series event that CM Punk competed in before his abrupt exit from the company was in 2013. The Second City Saint City teamed up with Daniel Bryan to battle The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in tag team action. Punk and Bryan used their incredible in-ring acumen to combat the brute strength of Rowan and Harper. The ending of the bout saw Bryan nailing Rowan with the running knee and Punk taking down Harper with the GTS to score the pinfall.

Survivor Series 2024

Just one year after his incredible WWE return, CM Punk competed and won in the WarGames match, helping OG Bloodline win over Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline. He also buried the hatchet with Roman Reigns in the process.

Survivor Series 2025

For the 2025 edition, Punk has teamed up with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) to battle the team led by Paul Heyman, which consists of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar in a WarGames match.

Punk was attacked by a masked assailant during the match, while helping the opposing team, as Breakker delivered a massive spear to pin Punk and secure the win. This is the first loss in a WarGames match for Punk and the remaining four members of his team.
