The two stars engaged in a war of words on the 01/27 episode
The 01/27 episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Multiple top stars appeared on the show including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Bianca Belair and many more.
The show was also used by the promotion to build up toward the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE and served as the go-home show for the first PLE in 2025 which will take place on February 1 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and ‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk ended the show with a fiery segment where the two stars engaged in a war of words which turned out to be one of the best segments in recent memory.
The Second City Saint predicted that he would win the Royal Rumble match and beat Rhodes for the title at WrestleMania. During the segment, Punk also stated that because he is Rhodes’ one true friend he will stab him in the front.
“Unlike all these other people, ‘your friends’, stabbing you in the back, I’m gonna win the Royal Rumble and I’ll see you in the main event of WrestleMania and because I’m your one true friend, I’m gonna stab you in the front!” Punk stated.
The Second City Saint‘s comments sparked a debate with fans speculating if Punk hinted toward Randy Orton, who is currently out of action due to an injury caused by Kevin Owens. The promotion has teased a similar thing with Orton eyeing the title in multiple segments with Rhodes.
Orton is one of the legends when it comes to being sneaky for his own good and there is a possibility that he might return to cost Rhodes the title. The Viper might also plan to capture the title himself, although these are all speculations it seemed like Punk tried to warn Cody about his ‘friends’.

Randy Orton has been out of action since November 2024
The Viper has been absent from WWE programming since the 11/08 episode of Friday Night SmackDown where he was attacked by his former friend Kevin Owens. Owens landed the infamous piledriver which caused major injury to Orton’s head and neck.
The two stars earlier were set to settle their dispute inside the ring at Crown Jewel 2024 PLE. However, the match never began as the two stars continued brawling. Orton last wrestled on the 10/25 episode of the Blue Brand where he teamed with Cody Rhodes to battle the Imperium (Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser).
Do you think CM Punk’s prediction will come true and will he realise his dream of headlining WrestleMania? Do you think Punk warned Cody about Randy Orton, share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
