Dominik Mysterio drops bombshell on his Creative direction in WWE

The AAA Mega Champion doesn’t seem happy with the creative direction.
AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio recently sat down with Esse Magazine to promote the upcoming Clash in Italy, which is set to emanate on May 31 from Turin, Italy.
During the conversation, Mysterio was asked why he didn’t have a match on the Clash in Italy card. Responding to the question, calling himself a ‘lightning in a bottle,’ Dirty Dom stated that WWE doesn’t know what to do with him.
“I don’t think they know what to do with me. I’m too cool. They have lightning in a bottle and they have no idea what to do with it so they’re just letting it sit. I’m like you, brother, I’m just waiting. I could have all the storylines, but like I said, they don’t know what to do with me.“

Mysterio also added that the promotion is just holding him, noting his wins over names like John Cena, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Damian Priest. Dirty Dom once again called out the ‘old fossils’ still working in the company, once again staying in character and not breaking kayfabe.
“I’m too good, I’m lightning in a bottle, and they’re just holding me. I don’t know (what they’re waiting for). Like I said, I’ve beaten John Cena, I’ve beaten AJ Styles, beaten Rey Mysterio, beaten Damian Priest… I don’t know what they’re waiting for. I’m 29 years old, the kid’s young. We’ve got all these old fossils in there working. I don’t know what they’re waiting for.”
Dirty Dom concluded that he is a patient man and can wait for good storylines. He has the Judgment Day and the AAA Mega title, and if the WWE decides to put him on the PLE, he will put the AAA title on the line.
“At the end of the day, I’m a patient man. I can wait. I’ve got The Judgment Day with me. AAA Mega Campeón. I’m not tripping. If they want to put me on Clash In Italy, I’ll put my Mega Campeonato on the line. It don’t even matter.”

Since April, Dirty Dom has once wrestled twice, including the WrestleMania 42 showdown with Finn Balor and his AAA Mega title defense against “Original” El Grande Americano.
When it comes to storylines, Dirty Dom and Judgment Day are still involved in a feud with Finn Balor. Dominik also continues appearing alongside Liv Morgan and playing a role in her storylines, while still lacking a major storyline centered around himself.
This is more evident in 2026, as his first Intercontinental title defense, which lasted a total of 204 days, had a total of nine successful title defenses. The continuous rematches involving Penta, AJ Styles, and Rusev are a prime example of the lack of creative storylines and shallow division.
However, his second IC title reign, which lasted 93 days, did not have any successful title defenses as Dom lost in his first defense, which came after over three months. While Dirty Dom suffered a shoulder injury during this reign, it still doesn’t explain the lack of title defenses, as even when he was on television, Mysterio was only partaking in segments and appearing ringside to back his Judgment Day stablemates.
