Tiffany Stratton battled Kiana James in a singles match last night!

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, following her backstage hostile interaction with Kiana James, battled her in a singles match last night on SmackDown.

The October 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona. The show intensified the build towards the upcoming November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. 

Stratton emerged victorious in the clash against James, but was attacked after the match by the Women’s US Champion, Giulia. Jade Cargill rushed in to make the save and celebrated the win with Stratton, her former rival.

However, Cargill suddenly turned on Stratton, attacking the Champion, and turning heel for the first time in her WWE career. Jade continued the onslaught, slamming the Champion into the steel steps and tossing her over the announce desk.

The surprise attack ended when security and officials managed to get the situation under control. However, the damage was done by Cargill.

Tiffany Stratton undergoes knee evaluation after the attack

During the final sequence of the vicious attack, Cargill slammed Stratton’s knee down onto the steel steps, leaving it trapped. Stratton immediately grabbed her knees and was visibly struggling with pain as security checked on her.

Following the show, WWE provided an update, revealing that the Champion was undergoing a knee evaluation, adding that Stratton is adamant about going through with the clash against Cargill at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

“BREAKING NEWS: @tiffstrattonwwe is getting her knee evaluated, but reports are that Tiffany Stratton is adamant about going through with the match on #SNME. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.”

Cathy Kelley interviewed Jade Cargill after the attack. Jade said you only face consequences when you make a mistake, and her only mistake had been thinking this world rewarded patience. What it truly rewarded was power, and she was determined to take it, beginning with the WWE Women’s title.

Later in the show, the promotion announced a match between the two for the upcoming November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Stratton’s WWE Women’s title will be on the line for the clash.

However, it remains to be seen if Stratton is medically cleared for the clash next week at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
