Rhea Ripley suffered a gruesome fracture to the right orbital area
The former WWE Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley made a swift return to in-ring action after she suffered a life-threatening injury last month. Mami suffered a fractured right orbital socket due to an attack by the WWE Women’s World Champion.
During the October 29 episode of WWE NXT, Ripley sustained serious injury following an attack by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. The former champion was left bleeding in the parking lot after the gruesome attack.
As per the update released by the WWE after the injury, Ripley was out of action for an undisclosed time. However, Mami made her shocking return this Monday at the Van Andel Arena in Michigan.
Rhea made her return during the Monday Night Raw pre-taping of the 11/18 episode in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The 11/18 show was pre-taped following the 11/11 show of the Red brand at the Van Andel Arena.

Rhea Ripley displayed a new look in her return
During the pre-taping, the Michigan fans were treated with a huge surprise as Ripley made her return to the ring and confronted WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
Ripley was rocking a new look in her return as she wore a protective face mask similar to what WWE legend Trish Stratus used to wear. Stratus’ use of the mask became iconic among WWE fans.
Mami assaulted the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion who was the reason behind her injury as mentioned above. The attack triggered a chaotic multi-woman brawl that involved Ripley, Morgan, Raquel, Jade Cargill, Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Candice LeRae.
This clash led to the WarGames match announcement between Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, Naomi & Rhea Ripley against the team of Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez & Candice Larae.
However, the quick return raised many questions as to whether Mami is medically cleared for in-ring action. Ripley laid the speculations to rest as she looked as quick and powerful as ever in the pre-taping displaying that she was medically cleared and is fit for competition.
Past examples of WWE superstars competing in protective masks similar to Rhea Ripley
In the past, there were examples of wrestlers facing similar injuries who continued competing adorning the protective face mask. WWE legend Trish Stratus and the current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes have worn the protective face mask during competition after suffering similar injuries.
The former World Champion is now looking to exact her revenge against Morgan and Raquel in the WarGames match at the Survivor Series 2024 PLE in Vancouver, Canada.
The Survivor Series 2024 is the last PLE of the year and is scheduled for November 30. The OG Bloodline looks to avenge their loss against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline in the PLE.
