Jeff Hardy shares details behind Hall of Fame rejection from WWE
Jeff Hardy is one of the most extremely talented high-flying professional wrestlers in the industry. Hardy has been in the industry since 1993 and achieved great success across some of the biggest promotions. He is mostly known for his tag team with his brother Matt Hardy, dubbing themselves ‘The Hardy Boyz’ & ‘The Hardyz’. The Charismatic Enigma is a 23-time champion in WWE and is a four-time champion in TNA.
Hardys has a great legacy with WWE and worked for the company in various timelines and had major success there, despite the ups and downs. Hardy has a hall-of-fame-worthy career with the company, however, he has revealed that he had rejected the WWE Hall of Fame for a certain reason.
Jeff Hardy rejected WWE Hall of Fame in 2021
Jeff Hardy recently appeared for an interview on Busted Open Radio, where Hardy said that he was offered a WWE Hall of Fame back in 2021, however, he rejected the offer saying that it didn’t feel right for him, without Matt Hardy. Although he felt proud for the moment, he rejected the offer and made clear that if he is inducted into the Hall of Fame, it should be with his brother Matt Hardy as The Hardy Boyz and he doesn’t wish to have two rings for their induction.
Jeff Hardy said,
“For sure, man. When I denied it the first time, it didn’t feel right going in there without Matt [Hardy]. I mean I cried after that phone call. I was just thinking about all the really cool moments I’ve given to the pro-wrestling world. I’m so proud of it, but it didn’t feel right at all. So, I just wanted to wait. If I did do this, I’m definitely doing that with Matt, you know. It’ll be a Hardy Boyz thing. I just want one ring, I don’t want two rings.”
It was not the first time that Jeff Hardy has addressed his Hall of Fame rejection. Back in 2022, while speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast, Jeff said the same with more details it. He said that the Hall of Fame talks were made in 2021, however, he got offended and moved to AEW, feeling that it was not the time.
