The May 2025 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event features a steel cage match!
The Stamford-based promotion is ready to deliver the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event from Florida. The May 24 edition of SNME will air live from the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida. The promotion has announced multiple matches and segments for the special show.
The promotion has announced multiple matches and segments for the special show, including two title clashes, a steel cage match, a tag team match, and a non-title match where Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will battle R-Truth.
Ahead of the second edition of SNME in 2025, let us take a look at four potential surprises that might be in store for WWE fans.
4. Chelsea Green wins
Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega is set to defend the title against the former and inaugural US Champion Chelsea Green. While Vega has been able to thwart the Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre) while battling Green, even pinning her to win the title.
Vega does have Michin and B-Fab, who have helped her even the odds against Green and the Secret Hervice, but the same might not happen at SNME as Green will likely win the title, likely with the help of Niven and Fyre.

3. Jey Uso retains
Since capturing the World Heavyweight title, Jey Uso has been a constant target of multiple challengers. However, none have targeted him quite as often as Logan Paul, the Maverick, has knocked out the Champion four times in the lead-up and has vowed to do the same come Saturday in the main event.
It seems unlikely that Jey drops the title to Logan, especially since the Maverick doesn’t really work full-time. Additionally, Jey’s storyline with Gunther and the rematch, along with the recent tensions with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman’s mind games, mean Jey is likely going to retain and continue the storyline.
2. The third member strikes
Since Paul Heyman betrayed CM Punk and Roman Reigns to align with Seth Rollins, Punk and Reigns have been unable to get their hands on Heyman, largely due to Bron Breakker joining the faction. However, the new faction faces severe opposition at SNME as Punk has teamed with Sami Zayn, to take down the common enemy.
It’s highly unlikely that Rollins’ faction will take the loss in Tampa, and they might even reveal another trick up their sleeve if things get tough. A third member making an appearance is one of the potential surprises that might be in store for WWE fans. Who might the third member be? It might be Karrion Kross, a star from NXT or Sami Zayn himself, we will have to wait until the match unfolds.
1. Cody Rhodes returns
Cody Rhodes has been absent from WWE programming since losing the Undisputed title to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. However, reports of him battling Cena and Travis Scott in a tag team match alongside a tag team partner have led many fans to speculate about his return.
The American Nightmare might return following the non-title clash between Cena and R-Truth to put Cena on notice and build up hype towards the tag title clash at Money in the Bank 2025.
