Sheamus is dealing with a shoulder injury.

WWE, before the November 21 show of Friday Night SmackDown, revealed that ‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus is dealing with a shoulder injury, which has forced him to withdraw from the ‘Last Time is Now tournament’ to decide John Cena’s opponent.

Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura on the 10 November episode of WWE RAW to advance in the tournament and secure a spot in the quarterfinals. However, now an injury has spoiled his plans as he pulled out, spoiling his chances to face Cena one final time.

The Celtic Warrior on this week’s Raw teamed up with Cena and Rey Mysterio to take down the Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio) in an eight-man tag team match. It is possible that he might have picked up an injury during the match.

Nevertheless, WWE had to find a replacement for the Celtic Warrior, which they did during the November 28 episode of SmackDown, the show which was pre-taped after the November 21 show and where the replacement was announced.

During the pre-taping of next week’s show, both Miz and R-Truth vied for a spot in the tournament to replace Sheamus. While R-Truth was speaking, Miz claimed the spot for himself, officially returning to the tournament.

Miz participated in the first-round match of the tournament. However, he suffered defeat at the hands of ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso. With the newfound opportunity, Miz battled LA Knight in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Sadly for the A-Lister, he once again suffered defeat, failing to capitalize on the opportunity to face his storied rivals in Cena. On the other hand, Knight is one step closer to securing one of the biggest matches of his career.

The result is expected to split fan opinion

After Miz lost to Jey Uso in the first round match, fans were outraged with the outcome, as Miz, despite having a storied rivalry with Cena, didn’t advance. Fans bombarded the match highlight video uploaded on WWE’s YouTube channel with dislikes.

However, this time around, it might split them as Knight himself is a massive fan-favorite, and fans have been vocal for him to receive a massive push. On the other hand, Miz not getting the chance to battle Cena one final time, despite 36 dates, is a travesty in itself.
