The tournament is underway to decide John Cena’s final opponent.

‘Main Event’ Jey Uso is once again facing the brunt of the WWE universe online as they are letting their discontent be heard after the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

In the first match of the show, Jey and The Miz battled in the third first-round match in the Last Time Is Now Tournament. The tournament is underway to decide the final opponent for the 17-time World Champion, John Cena, who is set to retire at the December 13 edition of SNME.

Four first-round matches have already taken place, with four more scheduled for the upcoming week, including two matches each for WWE Raw and SmackDown.

The video of Jey Uso winning has received a flood of dislikes

Jey Uso managed to kick out after a Skull Crushing Finale by Miz and countered another Skull Crushing Finale attempt from the top rope to deliver the spear, followed by the Uso Splash to win the match and advance in the tournament.

As usual, WWE uploaded the video of Jey Uso winning in the first-round match. Fans upset with the outcome responded to the video, which has now accumulated significantly more dislikes than likes.

As of the writing of this article, Jey winning the match has amassed 365K views, but when you take a closer look, the like-to-dislike ratio explains the backlash, as the video has accumulated 46k dislikes as opposed to 7.5k likes.

The dislike is also not stopping, as notably when we tweeted out the same, the likes were at 7.4k and the dislikes at 45k.

Fans have already wished to see Cena battle his former rivals one final time, and Miz is one of Cena’s most iconic rivals. Add to that the fact that Sheamus and Rusev won the first two matches, and fans were hoping for stars to win who have a history with Cena.

While fans online have voiced their opinion on WWE’s continuous push for Jey, the same has not been witnessed in the arenas and during live shows. However, this time it might not be just Jey winning but Miz losing the match and the chance to face Cena one final time, which might have irked the fans further.

Which WWE stars have advanced in John Cena’s final match tournament?

After the four first-round matches, Sheamus, Rusev, Jey Uso, and LA Knight have advanced in the tournament.

When and where will John Cena’s final match take place?

Cena’s final match is set for the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.
