The very nice, very evil star is looking for a tag partner.
During the May 1 edition of WWE SmackDown, The Miz agreed to be Danhausen’s mentor, despite weeks of torment, a move that puzzled Miz’s current mentee, Kit Wilson, who argued against it. However, Miz argued that the two are not on the same level, which is why he has decided to mentor the very nice, very evil star.
Just when Mizhausen got going, Miz flipped the tables, attacking Danhausen as Wilson joined in. After the attack, the very nice, very evil star demanded a match, and GM Nick Aldis agreed to it at Backlash only if Danhausen could find a tag team partner.
WWE has announced the match, and here we will take a look at four such WWE stars who can team up with the very nice, very evil star at the upcoming edition of Backlash in Tampa, Florida, next Saturday.
4. Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov has largely been absent from programming and in-ring action since before WrestleMania 42. Dragunov has a history with Miz, who has cost him multiple matches against Carmelo Hayes. WWE can use this angle to reveal Dragunov as the tag partner for Backlash.
While the very nice, very evil star will bring his sharp comedic timing, Dragunov can add in intensity and grit, making the tag match a must-watch event.

3. Royce Keys

The best way to ensure a victory is to team up with a ‘Powerhouse’ who can single-handedly take down a tag team and sometimes even an entire faction. Luckily for the very nice, very evil star, there is someone on the roster who fits the description.
Danhausen can decide to convince Royce Keys to team up with him for Backlash. The matchup would mean more screen time for Keys, who is establishing himself on the main roster since debuting at the Royal Rumble.
2. Carmelo Hayes

Former United States Champion Carmelo Hayes has had a turbulent history with The Miz, dating back to last year when Miz repeatedly attacked him and interfered in his matches. Hayes has already proven he can thrive without what he once called a “dead weight,” and now he has another chance to showcase his abilities. At the upcoming PLE, he could do just that by teaming up with Danhausen to take on his longtime rival.
Hayes was already snubbed before WrestleMania in favor of booking Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams for the United States Title, and a spot on the Backlash card would at least give him a chance to regain momentum and remind everyone what he’s capable of.
1. CM Punk

While CM Punk, better known among fanshausens as ‘Pepsi Phil’ or ‘ Cola Man Punk’, doesn’t have any long-standing feud with the Miz or Kit Wilson, largely due to him being on the Raw brand, but he does have history with Danhausen. In fact, Punk was a major factor in the former AEW star joining WWE.
Not to mention, Punk’s name will help boost ticket sales, ensuring more fans pack the arena for the Backlash PLE. His inclusion will only raise the comedic quotient of the match, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the chaos.
