The upcoming PLE will emanate from France!
Following the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, WWE is preparing for the 2025 edition of Clash in Paris. The third installment of the Clash PLE will take place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France.
The promotion is building a stacked card for one of the loudest fans in pro wrestling, and fans can also expect a few jaw-dropping surprises with superstars absent from WWE programming making their return. Here we take a look at five such stars who could make their return at Clash in Paris.
5. Apollo Crews
Apollo Crews has been absent from WWE programming since January. On January 24, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Crews defeated Johnny Gargano but suffered a torn pectoral muscle, an injury that required surgery and has kept him on the shelf ever since.
However, in the latest footage, Crews can be seen back in action inside the ring, training with Eli Knight at The Dungeon.

4. Ilja Dragunov
It’s been almost a year since WWE fans last witnessed Ilja Dragunov’s intense, high-octane style inside the squared circle. In September 2024, Ilja suffered a torn ACL during a live event match against Gunther. However, new reports have hinted at his return to WWE programming, and what better way to make a return than in front of the French crowd at Clash in Paris.
3. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio was set to battle El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41 and teach him a lesson for disrespecting the sacred tradition of lucha libre. However, the Hall of Famer suffered a groin injury and a busted eardrum during the April 18 episode of SmackDown in a six-man tag team match alongside Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee against American Made.
Mysterio recently made an appearance during AAA’s Triplemania and inducted Konnan into the AAA Hall of Fame. This appearance made many fans speculate if the legend is making a return at the Paris PLE.

2. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair has been significantly absent since WrestleMania 41. Except for a few sporadic appearances, Belair has mostly been absent from WWE programming and has yet to make her in-ring return. Belair suffered multiple broken fingers, which typically take a few weeks to heal. The EST of WWE might make her return at the PLE to reignite her feud with Naomi and put herself right into title contention.

1. Gunther

‘The Ring General’ Gunther suffered defeat against CM Punk, dropping the World Heavyweight title in the main event of Night 1 of SummerSlam. According to reports, Gunther was set to undergo surgery for a nose injury he carried in the SummerSlam match.
The extent of injury seems less if the Ring General was able to compete with it and could make a quick turnaround in France to restart his journey back towards the title.
