Top five storylines to watch out for on WWE SmackDown (August 02, 2024)

WWE could build several storylines on this week’s WWE SmackDown

WWE is all set to host the August 2, 2024 episode of WWE SmackDown from the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. This is the final episode of SmackDown before the 2024 SummerSlam PLE.

WWE has announced some of the interesting matches and segments for the show. However, here are the top five storylines WWE can build on this week’s SmackDown.

5. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller split

Things between Austin Theory & Grayson Waller haven’t been too smooth in recent times, as Waller uses Theory to escape his situation and cause him trouble. The potential split has been teased for a very long time, however, this week’s SmackDown could be the right time to initiate the split, with Theory potentially striking back on Waller on turning babyface.

4. LA Knight vs Santos Escobar

LA Knight & Santos Escobar had their match last week, where Knight picked up the win. However, Escobar joined Logan Paul in the post-match attack and teased that things between him & Knight haven’t been settled yet. Escobar could tease an unsettled feud against Knight. If Knight wins the United States Championship at SummerSlam, Escobar can use the feud to become the first challenger for the title.

3. Tiffany Stratton vs Nia Jax

Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton allied and have been dominating the blue brand as the top-heel duos. Both Jax and Stratton have been having their sights on the WWE Women’s Championship and both have a valid contract for the title shot. If Tiffany Stratton tried to cash in, it could create problems between the two and could set the base for their feud in the future.

2. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill split

Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill are set to challenge Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a rematch. If Belair and Cargill failed to capture their title, there are high chance that the dynamic duo could split their paths, by turning on each other. There is no better way for the company to split each other than this and they could potentially make them feud against each other, by turning any one heel, Jade Cargill.

1. The Bloodline capturing all gold

Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga will be taking on Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano of DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championship. If Bloodline wins the tag team gold, WWE can set the hype for Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa’s SummerSlam match. The potential tag team championship win can build the storyline with Bloodline setting its sights to acquire all the titles in the blue brand. Solo Sikoa has already mentioned their desire to conquer the golds in WWE and the foundation could be set this week.
