This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will air from Omaha!

The Backlash 2025 week is officially underway, and tensions are at an all-time high. The Stamford-based promotion is gearing up to deliver the go-home show of Raw and SmackDown before heading to St. Louis for the PLE.

The 2025 edition of the Backlash PLE is set for May 10 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Ahead of the PLE, the May 05 episode of the Red brand will set the stage for the final time as storylines and feuds will take centre stage.

The May 05 episode of Monday Night Raw is set to air live from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Here are the top five storylines that you need to watch out for on the go-home show of the Red brand in Omaha.

5. Gunther retaliates

“The Ring General” Gunther is set to battle Pat McAfee at Backlash, following a heated confrontation between Gunther and Michael Cole.

When Gunther attacked Cole, McAfee jumped in to save him, but in the process, he paid the ultimate price, as he was choked unconscious. McAfee had some pretty harsh words for the Ring General last week, and he might suffer the consequences in Omaha on the go-home show.

4. El Grande Americano strikes

On last week’s show, Chad Gable in a backstage segment mocked Penta as his brother Rey Fenix lost to El Grande Americano at WrestleMania.

However, Penta was in no mood as he dropped Gable with a vicious kick. While Penta is set to battle Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh, the luchador might have to battle on two fronts as either Gable’s American Made or El Grande Americano himself might cause interference.

3. Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria is set to defend the title against Becky Lynch on May 10th. This came as Lynch turned on Valkyria after the two lost the Women’s Tag Team titles, and the betrayal left Lyra heartbroken and angry.

However, Lynch has shown no remorse as she not only confessed to attacking Bayley but also sneak attacked Valkyria after their initial confrontation last week.

2. The Trifecta of Terror

Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman are set to address the WWE universe, this was after they decimated Sami Zayn last week, as Zayn refused to fall in line and accept Rollins’ offer.

It would be interesting to see who their next target is, especially considering CM Punk and Roman Reigns are currently on a break and do not pose any threat to Rollins’ faction.

1. Backlash 2025

As mentioned earlier, the May 05 episode of Monday Night Raw will serve as the go-home show for Backlash 2025, and as anticipated, the show will further build the announced matches with stars facing off for the final time before their battle in St. Louis.

The promotion might also announce more matches for the show, considering only four matches have been announced so far.
