The 01/24 episode of the Blue Brand will emanate from the Moody Centre

The Stamford-based promotion is ready to deliver on two back-to-back stacked shows of Friday Night SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event. The 01/24 episode of the Blue brand will be the go-home show of SNME and will be used to set the stage for the January 25 edition of SNME.

The 01/24 episode of SmackDown will be aired live from the Moody Centre in Austin, Texas which is about an hour away from the SNME venue in San Antonio. Two clashes have been announced for the show where LA Knight will battle Tama Tonga and a tag team action between MCMG and Pretty Deadly.

Ahead of tonight’s show of the Blue Brand in Austin, let us look at the top five storylines you need to watch out for.

5. WWE Tag Team titles scenario

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) and DIY (Tomassi Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) have been locked in a fierce feud since DIY backstabbed MCMG to win the tag titles. Shelley and Sabin are taking down opponents back-to-back in order to get a title rematch against DIY.

In their conquest back towards the title, MCMG will battle Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Price) on this week’s episode. While DIY have persuaded Pretty Deadly to act on their behalf and stop MCMG from getting the title shot, Wilson and Price have mostly failed in their attempts and are now directly competing with MCMG to get a title shot that they were promised by DIY for their troubles.

It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious in the clash and if the Tag champions decide to interfere in the match.

4. SNME build-up

The go-home show of the Blue brand tonight will continue in the footsteps of Monday Night Raw and will include segments that will hype up the announced matches for the January 25 edition of WWE SNME.

On this week’s episode of the Red brand, a title clash between Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax was announced for SNME with Ripley’s Women’s World title on the line. A contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens is also scheduled for the show in San Antonio.

3. More Rumble announcements

The first PLE of 2025, Royal Rumble is set for February 1 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, ahead of the PLE multiple top stars have announced their entry into the Royal Rumble match. A title clash between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens is also set for the show.

However, the promotion is yet to announce more matches for the show in Indianapolis mostly due to their busy schedule. On the 01/24 episode of the Blue brand, WWE will likely announce another title clash for the PLE.

2. LA Knight vs The Bloodline

Former US Champion LA Knight is set to lock horns with Tama Tonga on tonight’s show. The match was set up following last week’s altercation which also involved Braun Strowman and Tonga’s stablemate from the Bloodline, Jacob Fatu.

Fatu and Tonga have targeted Knight earlier and will likely team up once again during the grudge match. The addition of Braun Strowman in this saga will likely aid Knight and neutralize the number’s game on tonight’s show.

1. Solo Sikoa

Solo Sikoa has not been the same since losing the Ula Fala in a humiliating defeat against Roman Reigns in the debut episode of Raw on Netflix. Sikoa made his return to last week’s show, this was his first appearance since the loss.

Sikoa looked visibly overwhelmed and left the ring without uttering a word when fans continued booing him. While there were signs of the fall of Sikoa’s Bloodline a new report from WrestleVotes Radio, WWE will no longer refer to the team of Sikoa, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga as the Bloodline.

It will interesting to see what Sikoa’s next step would be in the wake of the developments and the reaction of Fatu and Tonga to Sikoa’s next step.

What lies ahead for the once-dominant force known as the Bloodline? Will the tag champs interfere in the clash between MCMG and Pretty Deadly? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
