‘The Visionary’ got injured at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in July 2025
Seth Rollins is officially on the shelf after suffering a knee injury during his match with LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The injury cut the match short, with Rollins visibly struggling after a springboard move caused his knee to buckle.
He was helped backstage post-match and has since been seen using crutches and wearing a knee brace. While early signs suggest a significant injury, a full diagnosis is still pending.
The injury not only impacted the outcome of the bout, originally scheduled for Rollins to win, but also forced some changes to WWE’s programming on the night.
It’s going to be a while: Seth Rollins
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, Rollins shared a sobering update. Swelling in his knee has made it difficult for doctors to provide an accurate reading. He will undergo further imaging in Los Angeles within the next two weeks.
“There was some imaging. It was a little too swollen,”
Rollins said. “Hopefully, in a week or two we’ll get a firm diagnosis. What I feel is that this is going to keep me out for an extended period of time.”
Rollins already planning for WrestleMania 42
Despite the uncertainty, Rollins already has WrestleMania season in mind. “This isn’t the first time I’ve been injured, it won’t be the last. I’ve always got WrestleMania in the back of my mind.”
Creative plans shift with Seth Rollins on the sidelines
Seth Rollins’ injury has led to a shake-up in WWE’s booking plans. He was a major player on RAW, spearheading a new stable with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. Heyman even referenced the setback on this week’s RAW, vowing to keep the Money in the Bank briefcase safe until Rollins returns.
With a cash-in deadline set for June 2026, Rollins still has time, but his current momentum has come to a halt. Saturday night’s event also saw abrupt timing changes. Goldberg’s post-match promo was reportedly cut short, and other segments were shuffled around following Rollins’ unexpected exit from the ring.
While Roman Reigns’ return and big SummerSlam match involving both have also now been cancelled due to the injury.
This latest setback is yet another test of Rollins’ resilience. He has come back from major injuries before, including a torn ACL in 2015.
The hope is that this current issue won’t require surgery, but the extent of the damage remains to be seen. Rollins remains focused on recovery and, as always, eyes the biggest stage of them all, WrestleMania.
