What's next for Logan Paul after title loss at WWE SummerSlam 2024?

Logan Paul was United States Champion for 279 days, the 3rd highest US Title reign in WWE history
Logan Paul held the WWE United States Championship for nearly 300 days, but he defended his title only twice in that span. Despite being a phenomenal in-ring performer—many fans and critics alike believe he was born for this—Paul was not a fighting champion.
However, in his third title defense at SummerSlam, he was defeated by the fan-favorite LA Knight, who finally won his first major title in WWE after being one of the hottest superstars over the past two years.
Now, the big question on everyone’s mind is: what’s next for Logan Paul since he lost his US Championship? There has been some speculation on the internet about him potentially leaving the WWE, but rest assured, that is not the case. Logan Paul signed a multi-year contract with WWE in April 2023 and renewed it again in 2024. Therefore, he is not likely to be leaving the company anytime soon.
What is next for “The Maverick”?
With that concern out of the way, let’s talk about the future. Logan Paul might challenge LA Knight to a rematch for the title at either Bash in Berlin or Bad Blood but the chances of it happening is significantly low. The whole point of taking the title off him was likely to utilize his star power in big-time matches.
Additionally, with Logan Paul and his fiancée, Nina Agdal, expecting their first child—a girl—this autumn, it’s also likely that he will be taking a bit of a break from WWE. He might make his return at Crown Jewel, scheduled for November 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
As for who his opponent might be, there are plenty of marquee matches that could be booked. We might get Cody Rhodes vs Logan Paul 2.0 at the event. He could also face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship or Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.
While WWE isn’t typically known for heel vs. heel rivalries, it would make a lot of sense for Gunther to protect his ring, which he considers sacred, from an outsider like Logan. There aren’t many active stars in Smackdown at the moment with whom you can book Logan. He has already faced Randy Orton and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 40.
While a match against Andrade might be visually aesthetic, it wouldn’t necessarily be a big-time match. Logan Paul might also directly make his comeback at the Royal Rumble match, where John Cena is likely to be returning as well. The two could face off at the event, leading to a WrestleMania 41 dream match. However, WWE might have bigger plans for Cena.
In conclusion, the direction WWE will take with “The Maverick” Logan Paul is yet to be seen. However, Triple H has always been spot-on with his booking, and there is no reason to doubt him now. Let’s hope Logan Paul’s next rivalry in WWE, whenever it happens, will be just as entertaining as the previous ones—but let’s not put a title around his waist again anytime soon.
