John Cena has just two matches remaining before retiring from WWE!
The 2025 edition of WWE Survivor Series will mark the final in-ring appearance of John Cena at the event. He will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio in a rematch from their collision on the November 10 edition of RAW.
While Cena got the win over Dirty Dom once, here are five reasons why he should not beat him again at Survivor Series 2025:
5. John Cena doesn’t need the title for his last match

John Cena is set to wrestle his final match on December 13 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match itself is historic and must-see that the absence of the IC title would not make much difference. Therefore, he does not need the workhorse championship heading towards the end of his career.

4. Huge praise for Dominik Mysterio
John Cena has expressed massive praise for Dominik Mysterio multiple times and even during his farewell tour. With his Grand Slam accolade now complete, he would be happy to give it back to Mysterio at Survivor Series by dropping the title back to him.
3. The rematch was made for Cena to lose the title
Despite John Cena dethroning Dominik Mysterio for the title, he had a remarkable run as the champion. WWE wanted Cena to become the Grand Slam Champion before retiring from the ring and now that it has happened, it is expected that he would lose it back to Mysterio, possibly hinting that the rematch to be set in stone in the first place at Survivor Series.
2. Major push for Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio has emerged as one of the most popular WWE superstars of the modern era. He broke out of the shadow of his legendary father, Rey Mysterio and made a name for himself. Dirty Dom could ascend to a much higher level in WWE and it could happen at the expense of beating John Cena at Survivor Series.

1. Regain momentum
The WWE fans desired to see John Cena achieve the Grand Slam before hanging up his boots. While the regime gave fans what they wanted, they hurt Dominik Mysterio’s roaring momentum in the process.
However, Survivor Series could be the stage for the Judgment Day member to regain it and in a big way by beating the GOAT in a title match at a major Premium Live Event.
Will Survivor Series 2025 be John Cena’s last match in WWE?
No, it will be his last match at a PLE; however, his final in-ting match will take place on December 13 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
