WWE is the world’s largest professional wrestling company!

WWE is the official destination for some of the best superstars from all over the world. It is the world’s largest professional wrestling company and has been a dream place for a number of wrestlers.

In recent years, the company has been keen on hiring and firing talents and has made a lot of changes inside the company. It is clearly witnessed that the company has been offering some big-time compensation contracts to their talents to avoid a free agency situation in the future. In the same way, WWE also showed interest in bringing world-class athletes to the company from the free agency market. As this being said, here we take a look at why the company will soon be in the free agency market.

WWE could be active in the free agency market soon

On the September 09  2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, the Raw Color Commentator Joe Tessitore made an announcement from the commentary desk that the Monday Night Raw is officially moving back to two hours from being a three-hour show.

Following that the company posted on their social media about moving to the two-hour format saying “BREAKING: #WWERaw will be on @USANetwork from 8 pm ET to 10 pm ET starting on Monday, October 7th and through the rest of 2024 culminating with the @USANetwork finale on Monday, December 30!”. After the official announcement, the backstage reports revealed that the red brand will be back to the three-hour format, when the show moves to Netflix on January 07, 2024.

As Raw moved to Netflix, there was a huge buzz on if SmackDown could turn into a three-hour show on the USA Network. As the speculations and rumors started buzzing the internet, WrestleVotes revealed that they heard from internal sources that SmackDown is indeed becoming a three-hour show, starting from January 3, 2024.

WrestleVotes report, “We have learned that starting on the January 3 show 2025, Smackdown will indeed shift to three hours. The other big news here is there are rumors that once the show ends, it will be available on Netflix, which we haven’t heard elsewhere. Those are the internal talkings right now that probably the day after Smackdown will be available on Netflix. But the real nugget here is that starting January 3, that show will be three hours.”

As both the main roster flagship shows are going three hours, there is a high chance that the company will soon be in the free agency market in search of talents, as both the three-hour shows need a lot of stars to fill the show with engaging storylines and matches.

Based on this we can expect a number of new wrestlers to enter free agency for a mighty deal with WWE very soon. The company already has its sights on the top free agent market and has signed some of the hottest free agents recently.
