The Beast Incarnate announced his retirement after SummerSlam.
With both scoring a win over each other, Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi met in a trilogy match to break the tie. The rubber match headlined Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026 at the U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Hell in a Cell showdown saw Femi capture the win, also handing Lesnar his first loss inside Hell in a Cell. WWE paid tribute to Lesnar on the fallout show of Raw and moved him to the alumni section on their website.
On Tuesday, Lesnar made an appearance on the Pat McAfee show to announce that he has officially retired from pro wrestling.
“I am here today to do this interview and let the whole world know that I am retired. I want to say a big thank you to everybody. Saturday was a very emotional day for me. That’s it for me in the squared circle.”
Lesnar also shared his plans for life after retirement, saying that his family will be his top priority as he looks forward to spending more time with his children.
He expressed gratitude to everyone who believed in him throughout his career, including WWE, the WWE Universe, TKO, UFC and its president Dana White, the Minnesota Vikings, and the University of Minnesota for giving him opportunities that shaped his journey.
However, this announcement also left many fans unhappy, as many thought that Lesnar would continue to make sporadic appearances after the feud with Femi and would likely appear at WrestleMania 43.
Will Brock Lesnar appear at WrestleMania 43?
According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, several top WWE officials believe Brock Lesnar could have a role at WrestleMania 43 in some capacity.
While Lesnar may not necessarily compete in a match, one source suggested that a WWE Hall of Fame induction as part of the 2027 class could be considered. However, the same source added that they “can’t envision Lesnar walking away before one final payday in Saudi Arabia.”
The murmurs of Lesnar’s Hall of Fame induction in Riyadh have been rampant since Brock confirmed the news of his retirement from pro wrestling.
The 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will emanate as a two-night spectacle in April 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE has not announced the dates for the PLE yet.
The event will mark the first WrestleMania to take place outside North America and only the third edition held outside the United States. The previous two international shows were WrestleMania VI and WrestleMania X8, both staged in Canada in 1990 and 2002, respectively.
