John Cena’s last match tournament is underway!

The Last Time Is Now Tournament continued on WWE RAW with a brutal first-round matchup between two powerful competitors, Rusev and Damian Priest.

From the opening bell, it was clear that both men had come to fight for more than just advancement. Rusev, the returning powerhouse, wasted no time asserting his dominance, driving his knee into Priest’s ribs and unloading with clubbing body shots in the corner.

Priest fired back with intensity, reversing momentum and delivering heavy strikes of his own before Rusev stunned him with a thunderous superkick.

The Redeemer followed up with a spinning wheel kick for a near fall, keeping the pressure on his opponent. But Priest’s resilience shone through as he absorbed the punishment and struck back with precision elbows that staggered the Bulgarian brute.

Rusev targets the injury and takes control

After the commercial break, both men traded right hands in the center of the ring. Priest connected with a devastating back elbow, following it with his signature Broken Arrow attempt, only for Rusev to power out. Damian climbed to the top rope and landed a rare Old School-style crossbody that nearly sealed the victory, but Rusev’s veteran instincts kept him alive.

Sensing desperation, Priest prepared for South of Heaven, yet Rusev countered with a vicious poke to the injured eye, the same eye Priest had been protecting since his clash with Finn Balor weeks earlier. Exploiting the moment, Rusev gouged at the eye in the ropes, leaving Priest reeling in agony. With his opponent blinded and vulnerable, The Redeemer struck with the Machka Kick, flooring Priest and securing the pinfall victory.

WWE’s stacked mid-card scene

The win marked a major step for Rusev, who looked every bit like the dangerous competitor who once dominated WWE’s mid-card scene. His cold, calculating performance reminded fans that behind his calm demeanor lies an unstoppable force.

As for Damian Priest, the loss adds another setback in what’s been a difficult few months. His injured eye continues to haunt him, raising doubts about whether he can recover in time for future opportunities. Meanwhile, Rusev moves forward in the Last Time Is Now Tournament, proving that redemption and perhaps one last run at glory may be within reach.
