WWE had to re-shoot the final segment between Logan Paul & John Cena!

The latest episode of SmackDown (August 22) ended with Logan Paul knocking out John Cena, but not all fans saw the same version of the finish. WWE reportedly reshot the segment after executives felt the first take didn’t connect visually.

For international viewers streaming on Netflix, Paul’s first punch at John Cena appeared weak, leaving an awkward look on screen. WWE decided to re-film the attack for the USA Network broadcast. In the revised version, Paul shoved General Manager Nick Aldis aside before landing a cleaner shot on Cena from the front, changing the entire presentation.

While reshoots are not new in WWE, the decision sparked debate online. Some fans believed the original clip looked more natural, while others felt the second take looked sharper and more impactful.

John Cena and Logan Paul traded verbal shots ahead of WWE Clash in Paris

The confrontation was also part of a heated build toward WWE Clash in Paris on August 31. During SmackDown, Cena and Paul stood face-to-face for a promo exchange that set the tone for their upcoming singles match.

Paul wasted no time drawing boos, mocking Cena as a corporate puppet who simply does what WWE tells him. Cena fired back with some of his sharpest words in years, taking aim at Paul’s outside controversies and accusing him of exploiting WWE to sell his Prime energy drink. “Logan Paul is not an outsider. Logan Paul is a disappointment,” Cena declared, igniting the crowd.

The war of words ended with Cena delivering an Attitude Adjustment, leaving Paul flat on the mat. Fans erupted, but the YouTube star appeared unfazed, promising revenge in Paris.

On his Impaulsive podcast, Paul outlined his ambitions in no uncertain terms. “John Cena is the greatest of all time, for now. I intend to be the greatest of all time, if not one of the greatest of all time. I want my name thrown into the hat,” Paul said.

He added, “A way to do that is to go toe-to-toe with John Cena in every facet of wrestling. That’s on the mic, that’s in the ring, that’s even backstage interacting with people.”

Paul believes he can use everything he has learned from Cena to dethrone him at Clash in Paris. Whether the loudmouthed influencer has the ability to back it up remains to be seen.

Why did WWE reshoot the SmackDown ending?

WWE executives felt Logan Paul’s first punch looked unrealistic on Netflix’s broadcast, so they filmed a new version for USA Network.

What did John Cena say to Logan Paul on SmackDown?
