The Royal Rumble PLE will emanate from Lucas Oil Stadium
The 38th edition of the Royal Rumble PLE will emanate live from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Considered among the big five PLEs from the WWE every year, along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank. The PLE features two Royal Rumble matches in the men’s and women’s divisions.
The PLE kicks off the WrestleMania season as participants enter the Rumble match in hopes of getting a win and challenging the champion at WrestleMania. Multiple big names have announced their entry into this year’s match including John Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Charlotte Flair.
However, there is still plenty of space for a few surprise appearances and the return rumors are rife ahead of the PLE. Let us take a look at six such rumore surprise entrants in the 2025 Rumble match.
6. Omos
According to reports from WrestleVotes on Backstage Pass, Omos is expected to be in attendance at the Royal Rumble event in Indianapolis, Indiana, but it remains unclear whether he will participate in the 30-man Rumble match.

5. Jordynne Grace
Former TNA World Champion Jordynne Grace has signed a multi-year deal with the Stamford-based promotion. Grace took part in her last match at TNA Genesis 2025 PPV and bid farewell to the Nashville-based promotion.
Jordynne Grace has been rumored to make an appearance tonight, but she dismissed the speculation, claiming she’s hosting her mom’s 50th birthday party. However, a new report from PWInsider contradicts this, stating that Grace will be “100%” in the city for the Royal Rumble PLE.

3. NXT Talents
WWE NXT talents have consistently partaken in the Rumble matches over the years, with stars like Tiffany Stratton, Bron Breakker, Roxanne Perez, and Carmelo Hayes taking part in the 2024 matches.
While the Men’s Rumble this year might not feature any NXT talents, it looks like the Women’s Rumble will still include some stars from the developmental brand as Stephanie Vaquer, Jaida Parker, Lash Legend, and Roxanne Perez have all been spotted in Indianapolis.
2. Trish Stratus
According to reports, WWE legend Trish Stratus has been discussed within the Stamford-based promotion for an appearance in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble Match. As per WrestleVotes on a Backstage Pass Q&A, Stratus will be in Indianapolis but her participation is still unclear. Stratus last competed at Payback 2023 where she fought Becky Lynch.
“I know it’s been discussed. I know she will be in Indianapolis, I know WWE is bringing her in. I don’t know specifically if it is for a Rumble appearance but I know it’s been discussed. There’s only so many women’s legends they can call on, especially those that can still do it, and she’s one of them. So if she’s willing and they’re willing, I’d say better than a good shot she’s there,” WrestleVotes said.
1. AJ Lee
The entire pro wrestling fandom has been buzzing on even a slight mention of AJ Lee who has been absent from the WWE ring since announcing her retirement back in 2015 due to her cervical spine injury. Rumors are still swirling about Lee potentially returning to the ring, with her husband, CM Punk, once again hinting at her appearance in the Royal Rumble.
Punk also during an interaction with Jackie Redmond where she was asking WWE stars who they would want to see make a surprise appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble teased Lee’s return. “There’s a big one that I’m not going to say because I’m gonna get in trouble.” Punk said.
